Newfound opportunities are calling for Jarace Walker and Ron Holland, which is why both lesser-known players have worked their way into Friday’s NBA prop picks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tonight’s NBA props narrative:<\/strong> Walker and Holland have predictably modest points props tonight in their respective matchups and look like solid picks to cash. Elsewhere, Trey Murphy is worth fading despite putting on a sharpshooting masterclass last time out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBA prop picks Feb. 6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Best bet: Murphy under 3.5 threes (-124)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It would’ve come with a hefty price tag, but some thought Murphy would be on the move ahead of Thursday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murphy flashed his peak value on Wednesday, dropping a season-high 44 points while burying 12-of-19 attempts from 3-point range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clearly, his ceiling is high, but I still think tonight’s 3s line is a bit high based on a few factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. He doesn’t typically go over 3.5 threes<\/strong>. In 49 games this season, Murphy has cashed this under 31 times (63.3%).
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Minnesota is tough on opposing 3-point shooters.<\/strong> The Timberwolves excel at limiting chances from beyond the arc, holding opponents to the seventh-fewest makes and the fourth-fewest attempts.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Murphy is less efficient as a visitor.<\/strong> The small forward, who will play in Minnesota tonight, has a lower 3-point percentage on the road (36.2%) than he does at home (38.4%).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    It’s easy to see Murphy’s 19 attempted 3s last time out and want nothing to do with this under. But that volume was an anomaly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In his past eight games before Wednesday’s explosion, Murphy shot 23.6% from deep. And this under went 8-0 in those games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Key stat<\/strong>: In his lone matchup vs. Minnesota this season, Murphy went 0-for-5 from deep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Best NBA picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Holland over 8.5 points (+102):<\/strong> This seems like great value for Holland, a bench player who could see a short-term promotion for the Detroit Pistons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Last night, Jalen Duren suffered a knee injury that forced him out \u2014 and Holland started in his place in the second half. Holland finished with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting in 25 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The second-year lottery pick is averaging 8.2 PPG this season on roughly 20 minutes per night. And he’s 25-23 (52.1%) vs. this prop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Assuming Duren sits tonight, which seems more than fair on a back-to-back, look for Holland to find a bit more work on offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    NBA player prop predictions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Walker over 11.5 points (-107)<\/b>:<\/strong> Ivica Zubac will be wearing an Indiana Pacers jersey as soon as Sunday, which means tonight could be Walker’s last chance in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I’m betting on him to make the most of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In his past seven games (five starts), Walker is averaging 17.1 PPG on 51.8\/41.2\/76.9 shooting splits. He is 6-1 vs. this line and scored 11 points in the outlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Walker started against the Milwaukee Bucks back in November and excelled, scoring 18 points in 38 minutes (7-of-15 shooting). And that was with Giannis Antetokounmpo protecting the rim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Giannis will be in street clothes tonight, which should make things even easier on the 22-year-old power forward out of Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
