The Brewers are starting lefty opener Aaron Ashby to counter Shota Imanaga, and the water is muddied on who will get the ball afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my +330 Cubs vs. Brewers predictions for Game 2, featuring prop bets on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/andrew_vaughn\/batting-stats\">Andrew Vaughn<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/michael_busch\/batting-stats\">Michael Busch<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cubs vs. Brewers predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parlay: Brewers +1.5 | Vaughn over 1.5 bases | Busch 1+ hits (+390)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Brewers +1.5<\/strong><\/strong> (-265):<\/strong> Milwaukee finished with an MLB-best 97 wins this year thanks to elite pitching, strong defence, and consistent hitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t faze me that we&#8217;re not sure who&#8217;s pitching after Ashby \u2014 if anything, I trust Pat Murphy to pull all the right levers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One possible option is getting some length out of Quinn Priester (3.32 ERA, 1.24 WHIP). The righty had an opener in five of his outings this year, and Milwaukee went 4-1 in those games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other end is Imanaga, who had a pretty rough end to the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The southpaw posted a 6.51 ERA in September, and Chicago failed to cover a -1.5 run line in all five of those starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imanaga also gave up two earned runs in 4.0 innings in his first playoff start against the San Diego Padres, a game Chicago lost 3-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brewers are 53-29 at home this year; banking a run with them seems safe to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:118880\">Embed: #118880<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-10146156-2d6b-49a8-b097-37743fd550b5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Vaughn over 1.5 bases<\/strong><\/strong> (+125):<\/strong> Vaughn must be thanking some higher power daily that he was traded from the Chicago White Sox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fifth-year outfielder broke out after joining the Brewers, posting a .308\/.375\/.493 slash line in 64 regular season games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In that span, he generated 1.3 bWAR. In 610 games with the White Sox, he had -0.6 bWAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vaughn has tormented lefties as a Brewer, batting .403 with a 1.064 OPS. He&#8217;s also 3-for-7 against Imanaga with a .516 xSLG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Busch 1+ hits<\/strong> (-162):<\/strong> Putting Busch in this parlay more than doubles the price from +175 to +390. That seems like a steal to me given the circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cubs&#8217; leadoff man is a free swinger \u2014 to a fault sometimes \u2014 with a solid batted ball profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He ranks in the 74th percentile or higher in xBA (.275), xSLG (.569), barrel rate (17.1%), and hard-hit rate (47.3%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Batting from the left side, he has pretty severe lefty-righty splits.
