Thursday Night Football pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Closs says<\/strong>: Arizona may be 2-1, but the results have been disappointing. The Cardinals have wins over the Panthers and Saints, but recorded fewer total yards than their opponent in both games. Seattle is also 2-1 but was more dominant in the wins. The Seahawks have scored more points (75) in the last two weeks (both wins) than Arizona has in three games (63). I’ll back the more reliable team in this early-season divisional matchup. <\/p>\n\n\n\nSunday morning NFL Dublin pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Toman says<\/strong>: The Vikings ran the ball well in a Week 3 blowout win over the Bengals and could be in for another big effort on the ground vs. the Steelers, who have struggled against the run. Backup QB Carson Wentz has the top playmaker in this game (Justin Jefferson) and is getting fellow wideout Jordan Addison back from suspension. The Steelers have enjoyed a soft schedule on their way to a 2-1 mark. It’s the Vikings for me in Dublin.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNFL ATS picks: The early Sunday slate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Closs says<\/strong>: Carolina behind Bryce Young has been streaky and now’s the time to buy in after a 30-0 blowout of the Falcons. Last season, the Panthers started the season 0-5 against this spread, but once Young found some rhythm, they closed the year covering this spread in six of nine games. The Patriots are rolling at 2-1, but haven’t shown me enough to warrant this spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closs says<\/strong>: Detroit struggled in Week 1 against Green Bay, but I think it’s proven the offence is still legit. The Lions scored 52 points against the Bears and then upset the Ravens, scoring 38. The Browns did beat the Packers, but have yet to score more than 17 points in a game. That makes it an easy choice to back Detroit even at a high spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri says<\/strong>: Jaxson Dart makes his NFL debut against one of the best defences in the NFL. Hats off to the Giants for giving the kid a soft landing spot. Los Angeles not only has an elite defence, but is getting superb QB play out of Justin Herbert, who ranks first in passing with a 6:1 TD-to-INT ratio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri says<\/strong>: Buffalo has made a habit of killing bad teams at home. They\u2019re at home, and the Saints are an awful team. And while this is a huge number, Josh Allen and Co. have the rest and travel advantage after playing on TNF in Week 3. New Orleans has lost seven straight games dating back to last season with a -101 point differential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri says<\/strong>: I\u2019ll ride with the home underdogs in a battle of undefeated teams. Tampa Bay is 9-2 in its last 11 games dating back to its Week 11 bye last season, averaging a stellar 28.6 PPG in that span. Tampa Bay has allowed under 100 rushing yards in 11 straight games, and it ranks first in defensive EPA per rush. I think Saquon Barkley will struggle in this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri says<\/strong>: Cam Ward is still searching for his first win, as the Titans are 0-3 with a league-worst -43 point differential. That\u2019s ugly, but Houston has been just as bad. C.J. Stroud is struggling behind a brutal offensive line, and the winless Texans are averaging a league-worst 12.7 PPG. You can\u2019t justify laying a touchdown with them in any matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Horrobin says<\/strong>: After a 30-0 loss to Carolina last week, I can\u2019t possibly back the Falcons in what is essentially a pick\u2019em. The Commanders could have Jayden Daniels back (unknown at the time of this writing), but even if they don\u2019t, they can lean on a rushing attack that amassed 201 yards and three TDs last week. Atlanta\u2019s defence ranks 25th in rushing success rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNFL 4 p.m. slate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Horrobin says<\/strong>: I\u2019m scarred by the Rams\u2019 collapse last week, when they choked away a 19-point lead and failed to cover against the Eagles. But L.A. did have the defending champs on the ropes \u2014 on the road, no less \u2014 and that\u2019s more impressive than anything the Colts have accomplished. Matthew Stafford threw for 319 yards in a six-point win over Indianapolis two years ago, and he\u2019s looked great for the Rams so far this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
