{"id":364916,"date":"2025-08-24T14:21:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T18:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/?p=364916"},"modified":"2025-08-24T15:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T19:47:11","slug":"us-open-tennis-first-round-parlay-picks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/us-open-tennis-first-round-parlay-picks\/","title":{"rendered":"US Open first-round parlay picks: Bet on Gabriel Diallo, Andrey Rublev to win comfortably at +403"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The first round of the U.S. Open is underway, and I have a parlay to share for Monday&#8217;s matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The latest:<\/strong> Canadian Gabriel Diallo will compete in his second U.S. Open and looks to build on last year&#8217;s success. He plays Damir Dzumhur in his opening match. On Court 5, Andrey Rublev will welcome Dino Prizmic in his debut at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my top US Open picks for the first round of action, featuring a pick on Karen Khachanov vs. Nishesh Basavareddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">US Open parlay picks: First round<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Parlay:<\/b><strong> Diallo -1.5 sets | Rublev -1.5 sets | Basavareddy over 17.5 games won (+403)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Diallo -1.5 sets<\/strong> (-180)<\/strong>: The Canadian is finding his footing at the ATP Tour level, and there&#8217;s definitely been some mixed results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His 13-12 hardcourt record is nothing special, but it&#8217;s not bad either. Plus, I believe he has the momentum on his side in this matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Diallo&#8217;s results need to be taken with a grain of salt. Four of his last five losses have come against Taylor Fritz x2, Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner. All of which rank inside the top six.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the other side, Dzumhur is 20-20 on this surface since the start of last season, and he&#8217;s been struggling regardless of his opponent. He&#8217;s lost eight of his past 13 matches. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 33-year-old has been eliminated in the first round at 10 events this season, including two of the three Grand Slam majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With one set to work with, I expect Diallo to cover this line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/tennis\">US Open betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tennis parlay picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Rublev -1.5 sets<\/strong> (-148):<\/strong> Rublev is having a down year by his standards, but he&#8217;s still a very consistent player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 20 events he&#8217;s competed in, he&#8217;s only been eliminated in the first round twice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the 15th-ranked player on Tour, he often has the benefit of playing a lower-quality opponent, and that&#8217;ll be the case again at the U.S. Open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He draws Prizmic in the opening round.  The 124th-ranked 20-year-old has spent most of his career on the Challengers Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prizmic has already played three games at Flushing Meadows, as he needed to qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is 35-8 in his career on outdoor hardcourts, so he&#8217;s certainly a promising talent. But I believe it is still too early for him on the grand stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prizmic has played just two top 100-ranked opponents in his last 11 matches, and he&#8217;s 0-2 in those matches, losing four of the five sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rublev is 204-106 on hardcourts in his career and should be able to advance comfortably through the first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Basavareddy over 17.5 games won<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>(-109):<\/strong> I&#8217;m officially placing this match on upset watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Basavareddy made his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open this year, he took the first set off Novak Djokovic before ultimately losing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He&#8217;s a beast on hardcourts, going 16-9 on the surface this season, with a 61-26 career record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khachanov is no slouch, but he&#8217;s played a ton of tennis lately, thanks to a deep run at the National Bank Open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that, he needed to retire from his last match with Alexander Zverev due to a &#8220;physical issue&#8221; he could no longer deal with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That doesn&#8217;t give me confidence in the 29-year-old moving into the final part of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basavareddy is 4-1 in his last five matches played.
