Houston counters with Cristian Javier, who is making his first start of the season after recovering from Tommy John surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out my Red Sox vs. Astros <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">predictions<\/a>, including props on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/roman_anthony\/batting-stats\">Roman Anthony<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/jeremy_pena\/batting-stats\">Jeremy Pena<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Red Sox vs. Astros predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parlay: Red Sox F5 +0.5 | Anthony over 1.5 bases | Pena over 0.5 hits (+350)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Red Sox F5 +0.5 (-265)<\/a>:<\/strong> It&#8217;s pretty easy to get behind Boston with Crochet pitching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The southpaw leads the American League in ERA (2.24), is second in K\/9 (11.1), and has won nine of his past 11 starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Crochet&#8217;s advanced metrics indicate those numbers have been well earned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>90th-percentile xERA (2.95)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>82nd-percentile xBA (.220)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>79th-percentile whiff rate (29.6%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>73rd-percentile hard-hit rate (37.8%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m not even asking the Red Sox to win this game, though. I&#8217;m simply banking on them to at least be tied through five innings, which is when Crochet will be duelling with Javier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Javier was a great arm in 2022, but that was a long time ago. In his last full season, 2023, the righty had a 4.56 ERA in 162.0 IP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-10146156-2d6b-49a8-b097-37743fd550b5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Anthony over 1.5 bases (+128)<\/a>:<\/strong> I&#8217;m not entirely sure what we&#8217;re going to get from Javier, but Anthony sure profiles like the type of player who can hit him hard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boston&#8217;s rookie has a .289\/.426\/.456 slash line against RHPs this year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Left-handed hitters are slashing .273\/.345\/.470 against Javier since the start of 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Javier&#8217;s command issues and Anthony&#8217;s plate discipline could be a concern for this wager. But I still like the plus-money value given how well the 21-year-old is swinging the bat lately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthony is batting .356\/.473\/.489 in his last 12 games, going 8-4 against this line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Pena over 0.5 hits (-200)<\/a>:<\/strong> Finally, I&#8217;m looking for Pena to record a hit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For as good as Crochet has been, he&#8217;s allowed a decent amount of contact over his last five starts, ceding 32 hits in 33.0 IP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pena is batting an identical .315 against LHPs and RHPs this year, but Crochet has struggled a tad more against RHHs (.221 BA, .207 BA vs. LHHs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shortstop has a slight platoon advantage and has a hit in five of eight games since being activated from the injured list on Aug. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pena is also 3-for-5 lifetime against Crochet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Red Sox vs. Astros predictions made at 10:30 a.m. ET on 08\/11\/2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"thestar wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Looking to get started? <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNzQxMyZsPTEzNTI3NDExJnA9MjMyNDM%3D\">Sign up here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros open up a huge three-game series at Daikin Park on Monday.
