J-Rod gets a Grade-A matchup with Jonathan Cannon and the Chicago White Sox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d0873b89-4dfa-47d6-9954-56140c451c77\">Check out my favourite MLB prop bets on Aug. 6, featuring a prediction on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/marcell_ozuna\/batting-stats\">Marcell Ozuna<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-22b3784f-32c2-400a-beef-1578a991be49\">MLB prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-0c59b741-4781-48d8-8ffa-d93f8ee90c10\"><strong>Best bet: Rodriguez over 1.5 total bases (-118)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take a look at Rodriguez&#8217;s last 20 games:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>.298 batting average<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>.631 SLG<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12-8 vs. this wager<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>53 total bases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For context, that slugging percentage would rank second in MLB over the entire season behind only Aaron Judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And on Wednesday, he sees a struggling starter in Cannon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over his past two starts, Cannon has allowed 12 runs (10.1 innings pitched). The righty ranks in the 14th percentile in both xERA (5.04) and xBA (.280), per Baseball Savant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cannon&#8217;s 1.5 HR\/9 would be tied for the eighth-worst mark in MLB if he&#8217;d pitched enough innings to qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: The righty throws some variation of a fastball 64.7% of the time. He has just four hits in his last 38 plate appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he has 11 walks compared to eight strikeouts during that stretch, so it&#8217;s not a case of not seeing the ball well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His .395 OBP is still elite over those 13 games, and he gets a nice platoon advantage on Wednesday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Against left-handed pitchers, Ozuna has a .415 OBP. When a guy is reaching base over 40% of the time, he will have loads of scoring opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that&#8217;s been the case despite his low average. Ozuna is 4-1 against this wager in his past five starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, he has 11 hits in 26 at-bats vs. Jose Quintana (.423), with three walks.
