The matchup doesn&#8217;t get any tougher than today&#8217;s, though, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/tarik_skubal\/pitching-stats\">Tarik Skubal<\/a> on the mound for Detroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my Blue Jays vs. Tigers predictions, featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/vladimir_guerrero_jr\/batting-stats\">Vladimir Guerrero Jr.<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/kevin_gausman\/pitching-stats\">Kevin Gausman<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blue Jays vs. Tigers predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parlay: <strong><strong><strong><strong>Guerrero over 0.5 hits<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> | <strong><strong><strong>Gausman over 5.5 Ks<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> | <strong><strong><strong><strong>Skubal under 7.5 K<\/strong>s<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> (+340)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Guerrero over 0.5 hits <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>(-167):<\/strong> I know Skubal will be throwing to Guerrero for at least a handful of innings, but this value is too good to pass up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guerrero is raking right now, grabbing a hit in 10 of his last 20 plate appearances, dating back to the series with the New York Yankees. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He has at least a hit in seven of eight games since the all-star break.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, he&#8217;s elite at getting to left-handed pitching. He has a .337\/.435\/.534 slash line against lefties this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And he&#8217;s seen Skubal well in a limited sample size. In four plate appearances against the Tigers&#8217; ace, Guerrero has two hits and a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, Detroit has the sixth-worst bullpen ERA in the AL (4.08), so Guerrero will still have a good shot to get to a reliever if Skubal shoves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-10146156-2d6b-49a8-b097-37743fd550b5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Gausman over 5.5 Ks <\/strong><\/strong>(-120):<\/strong> Gausman is starting to heat up, and it&#8217;s coming at the right time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his last start vs. the Yankees, he pitched 7.0 innings, allowing just one run while striking out eight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over his past five appearances, he has a 2.35 ERA with 28 Ks in 30.2 IP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers also don&#8217;t hit Gausman very well. The lineup has a .229 average in 96 at-bats with a 28.7% K rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Blue Jays veteran righty can work into the later innings, there will be plenty of opportunity for this leg to cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers strike out the fifth most in the majors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Skubal under 7.5 K<\/strong>s<\/strong> (-195)<\/strong>:<\/strong> My colleague, Avery Perri, wrote about Skubal under 6.5 Ks in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/blue-jays-picks-vs-tigers-july-26-2025\">Blue Jays vs. Tigers<\/a> prop picks. I&#8217;ll tease it up to add it into this SGP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s no denying that Skubal is a strikeout machine, with an MLB-leading 11.6 K\/9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the Blue Jays are arguably the best offence in baseball and are especially hot coming into this game.
