{"id":359566,"date":"2025-07-25T12:46:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T16:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/?p=359566"},"modified":"2025-07-25T12:46:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T16:46:14","slug":"blue-jays-vs-tigers-predictions-july-25-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/blue-jays-vs-tigers-predictions-july-25-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Jays vs. Tigers SGP predictions July 25: Bet on Barger, Berrios and Toronto to win at +540"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The surging Toronto Blue Jays turn to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/jose_berrios\/pitching-stats\">Jose Berrios<\/a> as they continue their four-game set against the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The pregame narrative:<\/strong> Toronto is coming off an 11-4 series-opening victory over Detroit, and I&#8217;m expecting Berrios and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/addison_barger\/batting-stats\">Addison Barger<\/a> to power the AL East leaders to another win tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my Blue Jays vs. Tigers same-game parlay predictions for the July 25 game at Comerica Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blue Jays vs. Tigers predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parlay: Blue Jays to win | Berrios over 4.5 strikeouts | Barger over 1.5 total bases (+540)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Toronto moneyline (-107)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>:<\/strong> I like all three legs as singles, and you could certainly play them that way with no odds shorter than Toronto moneyline at -107.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s start there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Blue Jays steamrolled into the all-star break, taking over first place in the AL East, and they\u2019ve come out of it just as hot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Toronto is 6-1 since the break, sweeping the Giants, taking two of three from the Yankees, and winning its series opener vs. the Tigers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Blue Jays are hitting .309 in those seven games. Post-ASG, they&#8217;re No. 1 in wRC+ and fifth in ERA (3.14).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These results aren\u2019t sustainable, but tonight isn\u2019t the game I\u2019m betting on things to turn sideways.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A win tonight guarantees Toronto at least a split against the AL Central-leading Tigers, and this is the game to get with Detroit\u2019s top arms, Tarik Skubal and Jack Flaherty, lined up for the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, the Blue Jays see Keider Montero, a second-year pro who serves up bombs and lacks swing and miss.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a terrible combo against the Blue Jays, who are the most difficult team in baseball to strike out and lead in contact rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expect Toronto to consistently put balls in play against Montero, which often leads to good outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berrios has been inconsistent but provides Toronto with a starting pitching advantage against a slumping Tigers squad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Toronto is 8-2 in Berrios&#8217; last 10 starts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Detroit is last in the majors in wRC+ over the last two weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Tigers have a 6.03 bullpen ERA in July (fifth-worst in MLB).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:116284\">Embed: #116284<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Berrios over 4.5 Ks <\/strong><\/strong>(+100):<\/strong> This looks like a great price, even though Berrios has been slightly below average punching batters out this season.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detroit has a lot of swing and miss in its game and Berrios still possesses some K upside, striking out eight-plus batters five times this year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we don\u2019t even need that upside tonight. An average outing cashes this bet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Berrios has recorded 5+ strikeouts in 11 of his 21 starts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Even last season, when he produced a career-low K rate, he cleared this line in 20 of 32 starts.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Tigers have the fifth-highest K rate in MLB over the last 30 days. Only two teams this season have struck out more vs. righties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Barger over 1.5 total bases<\/strong><\/strong> (+128)<\/strong>:<\/strong> Let&#8217;s tie this off with a juicy plus-money play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barger has been sensational in July and smashes right-handed pitching.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montero, a righty, has struggled vs. lefty hitters, making Barger a clear target of mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Barger in July: .328\/.357\/.642 (.999 OPS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Barger vs. RHPs: .548 SLG, 13 of his 14 homers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LHHs vs. Montero: .292\/.384\/.558<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Barger has topped this line in 10 of his 15 starts this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Blue Jays vs. Tigers predictions made at 11:58 a.m. ET on 07\/25\/2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The surging Toronto Blue Jays turn to Jose Berrios as they continue their four-game set against the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.
