Toronto has won 17 of its last 21 games and should have the pitching advantage on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scherzer has made four starts since recovering from a thumb injury, allowing three or fewer runs each time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Has he been great? No, but he&#8217;s been servicable and that&#8217;s all Toronto&#8217;s offence needs in support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other side, Cam Schlittler makes his second career start. He gave up two home runs (three total runs) in his debut against the Seattle Mariners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He struck out seven, but the Mariners are a tier below the Jays. Toronto is averaging 5.33 runs per game at home this season, where the club has won 11 in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jays also strike out the fewest times per game (6.68).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schlittler would need a masterclass pitching performance to kill the Jays&#8217; momentum, and I don&#8217;t see it happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:116148\">Embed: #116148<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-10146156-2d6b-49a8-b097-37743fd550b5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Barger over 1.5 total bases <\/strong><\/strong>(+123):<\/strong> Another thing about Schlittler is that he&#8217;s a right-handed pitcher, and that automatically makes this a juicy matchup for Barger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vs. LHPs: .196\/.260\/.326 (1 HR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. RHPs: .288\/.338\/.561 (13 HRs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, he&#8217;s on fire right now. Barger has a .333 average over his last 16 games with five homers and 37 total bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That includes 14 total bases in his last four starts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schlittler threw his four-seam fastball 53.3% of the time in his MLB debut. Barger has a .275 average and .500 SLG off fastballs in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a plus-money pick and could definitely be played solo, but it also boosts the SGP from +110 to +350, so I&#8217;m happy to add it in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Scherzer over 4.5 Ks<\/strong><\/strong> (-286)<\/strong>:<\/strong> Scherzer is 2-2 against this wager since returning to the rotation, but I like this matchup for the veteran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, he recorded seven Ks against the Yankees on June 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s not surprising as Scherzer has a very successful history against the Yankees&#8217; offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 155 plate appearances vs. the active lineup, Scherzer has a 40.0% K rate.
