A red-hot Lucas Giolito gets the ball for Boston opposite Chicago&#8217;s Colin Rea, and he should help the Sox carry a lead through the first five innings of this game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-279a57d4-158e-45db-99f0-8ea6ff55b1ec\">Check out my Red Sox vs. Cubs predictions, featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/pete_crow-armstrong\/batting-stats\">Pete Crow-Armstrong<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/roman_anthony\/batting-stats\">Roman Anthony<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-44bf76c3-6256-4d02-86b1-d465b67a7f07\">Red Sox vs. Cubs predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-e6563abb-b856-49ae-9254-a80c509f5c9e\"><strong>Parlay: Red Sox F5 +0.5 | Anthony over 0.5 hits | Crow-Armstrong over 0.5 hits (+310)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-6bfe57b6-2ad1-4877-926d-901262910d8d\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\"><strong>Red Sox F5 +0.5 <\/strong>(-143)<\/a>:<\/strong> Let&#8217;s hope Boston&#8217;s bats pick up where they left off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-6bfe57b6-2ad1-4877-926d-901262910d8d\">The Sox are averaging 7.0 runs per game during their winning streak, and have the fifth-best offence by weighted runs created plus, wRC+, over the last 30 days (121).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But even if the bats take a few innings to heat up, I&#8217;m confident Giolito can keep Boston level through five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The veteran righty has been spectacular lately, dropping his ERA from 6.42 to 3.36 after logging six consecutive quality starts \u2014 four with zero earned runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rea has also been solid, with a 3.86 ERA since June 1, but his underlying numbers concern me. Check out his numbers over the last 30 days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>.321 batting average<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>.291 xBA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>60% hard-hit rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1+ hit in 17 of 23 games<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthony will have a platoon advantage against Rea tonight, who has allowed a .301\/.350.\/530 slash line to left-hitting batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-97e65e85-3be4-4c64-80de-56a46abbe92d\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Armstrong over 0.5 hits (-177)<\/a>:<\/strong> Crow-Armstrong has broken out in his sophomore season, and is the most valuable outfielder in the NL by fWAR (4.9) coming out of the all-star break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-97e65e85-3be4-4c64-80de-56a46abbe92d\">The left-batting outfielder has a platoon advantage against Giolito and does his best work at home:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Splits vs. RHP<\/strong>: .301\/.339\/.613<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Splits at home<\/strong>: .301\/.344\/.572<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You could back PCA to go over 1.5 bases (+130), which would balloon this parlay&#8217;s value all the way to +525.
