That set up a favourable quarterfinal match against Guatemala, which is the lowest-ranked side remaining at the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my Canada vs. Guatemala SGP predictions for June 29, featuring Jonathan David.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canada vs. Guatemala predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parlay: Canada to win | <strong><strong><strong>Guatemala under 0.5 goals<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> | <strong>Jonathan David to score<\/strong> (+320)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Canada <strong>to win <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>(-295):<\/strong> Les Rouges are sitting at No. 30 in the FIFA rankings and could continue to rise with a deep run at the Gold Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And their next opponent, Guatemala, certainly doesn&#8217;t match Canada in talent, ranking 106th in the world (76 spots below the Canadians).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The side did well in the group stage, winning two games and claiming the second spot behind Panama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it was gifted the easiest group, avoiding USA, Mexico and Canada. Wins against Jamaica and Guadeloupe certainly don&#8217;t make Guatemala a contender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canada had a letdown performance against Curacao in its second match, but other than that, Jesse Marsch&#8217;s squad has been in outstanding form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les Rouges have a 6-0 win over Honduras, the side that finished second in the group, and a 2-0 win over El Salvador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The offence has gone through dry spells, but the defence has met the standard every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Go to full\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/football\/concacaf_gold_cup?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_soccer\">Canada vs. Guatemala betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Guatemala under 0.5 goals (-117)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>: That brings me to the next leg of the parlay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Canada joins USA as the only two teams to concede one goal or less in the group stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guatemala recorded 3.8 xG in three games in the group stage against worse opponents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Les Rouges are on a fantastic run defensively. They have three clean sheets in their past four games, dating back to a 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast earlier in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Gold Cup, Canada&#8217;s goalies have only needed to make three saves on four total shots on goal. That&#8217;s the fewest of any side at the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>David to score<\/strong><\/strong> (+115):<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>In a big match, I expect Canada&#8217;s best player to shine through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David only has one goal to this point, but he is easily Canada&#8217;s most decorated goalscorer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He has 35 goals in 66 international caps, including four in seven games to start 2025. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 25-year-old attacker had 23 goals in 36 starts across the French Ligue 1 and Champions League this season. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that, he is rumoured to be making a move to Juventus once his contract for Lille comes to an end in a few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, David is the penalty taker for Canada, which could help cash this bet if the opportunity for a spot kick arises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Canada vs. Guatemala predictions made at 9:34 a.m. on 06\/28\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada and Guatemala meet with a spot in the Gold Cup semifinal up for grabs.
