We&#8217;ll update this story if anything is posted<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best Ohtani prop bet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Best Bet: Over 1.5 total bases (-120)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As fun as it would be to target a pitching prop for Ohtani tonight, his limited workload puts a damper on things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he&#8217;ll still have a bat in his hands, too, which is pretty much always bad news for the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ohtani leads the National League in each of these offensive categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OPS (1.034)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SLG (.642)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Total bases (179)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home runs (25)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Runs (73)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that his xSLG (.685) is 43 points <em>north<\/em> of his NL-leading mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also ranks in the 100th percentile in hard-hit rate (62.4%) and average exit velocity (95.5 mph), per Baseball Savant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, Ohtani will face Dylan Cease for the second time in a week. Cease dominated the Dodgers on June 10, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings while striking out 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But a second look at Cease in such short order should be helpful for Ohtani. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, he already has strong numbers in this matchup: 7-for-22 (.318), three home runs, one double, .773 SLG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-time reigning MVP is averaging 2.6 total bases per game this year. This is a perfectly reasonable price to back him, even with a talented pitcher on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s much risk of fatigue or general distraction with the fact that Ohtani is starting on the mound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For one thing, he&#8217;s used to playing the two-way role, and even told reporters recently (via translator) that this is &#8220;the norm&#8221; for him.
