Elsewhere, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/yusei_kikuchi\/pitching-stats\">Yusei Kikuchi<\/a> is struggling with command issues that have prevented him from working deep into ballgames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1fb8fd5d-1623-4b06-83cc-6471dee8b3c9\">Check out my best MLB prop bets for June 9, which include a prediction on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/josh_lowe\/batting-stats\">Josh Lowe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-22b3784f-32c2-400a-beef-1578a991be49\">MLB prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-0c59b741-4781-48d8-8ffa-d93f8ee90c10\"><strong>Best Bet: Lowe over 0.5 runs (+100)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The left-hitting Lowe typically bats leadoff (or No. 2) when facing a right-handed pitcher, which means he&#8217;ll be in an optimal spot to score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given how much damage the Rays have done against Boston starter Brayan Bello in the past, that&#8217;s compelling enough for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tampa Bay&#8217;s active roster has compiled 94 plate appearances against Bello, batting 30-for-84 (.357) with a .512 SLG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lowe has been among the best of the bunch, going 7-for-17 (.412) with a home run, two doubles and a walk (1.150 OPS). Obviously, he has to get on base for this prop to cash, so that head-to-head history matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After Lowe, Tampa&#8217;s next three hitters are likely to be Brandon Lowe, Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda. They are collectively 12-for-30 (.444) vs. Bello with three extra-base hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bello has a 3.91 ERA through nine starts, but it could easily be a lot worse. According to Baseball Savant, he ranks in the eighth percentile in xERA (5.71) and the fifth percentile in xBA (.301).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now he&#8217;ll face a lineup that knows how to attack him, and Lowe should be a beneficiary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-13bf476e-3f27-4d52-86f2-70dff07fd638\"><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Lowe has scored 11 runs in his past 14 starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:114643\">Embed: #114643<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-10146156-2d6b-49a8-b097-37743fd550b5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-ebade6eb-0e6a-4675-8cbc-3a4396c11ac4\">Best MLB picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-310bddf4-d3c1-4fc6-8fe4-37281455da02\"><strong>Kikuchi under 17.5 outs (-125)<\/strong>: The Athletics have been brutal this season, but pitching is their main culprit. The lineup has been decent and should present some challenges for Kikuchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-310bddf4-d3c1-4fc6-8fe4-37281455da02\">Over the past 14 days, here&#8217;s how the A&#8217;s rank within MLB in some notable categories: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>30th (i.e., highest) in K rate \u2014 28.2%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7th in walk rate \u2014 9.5%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7th in wRC+ \u2014 113<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By walking and striking out a lot, the A&#8217;s are seeing a ton of pitches. And the 113 wRC+ indicates that they&#8217;re capable of doing damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kikuchi has gone under 17.5 outs in four straight starts, thanks largely to an inability to stay in the zone. He has allowed 18 walks in that span.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if the A&#8217;s don&#8217;t put up a bunch of runs, they can chase Kikuchi from this game early by practicing a little patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-c3d59bf3-e444-470d-8383-e592fe52f10d\"><strong>Polanco under 0.5 runs (-125)<\/strong>: Polanco was one of the best surprise stories through the first five-ish weeks of the season &#8230; but the crash has been real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>First 26 games:<\/strong> .369\/.407\/.750 slash line, 15 runs, 14 extra-base hits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Past 26 games:<\/strong> .151\/.207\/.209 slash line, six runs, three extra-base hits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Polanco has gone under 0.5 runs in 16 of his past 21 starts (76.2%). He&#8217;s a strong fade candidate right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arizona starter Merrill Kelly had some rough starts at the end of May, but he&#8217;s coming off 7.0 innings of one-hit ball against Atlanta.
