Take a look at his stats in May (including a current seven-game hit streak):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>.324 batting average<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>.910 OPS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>54 total bases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14-12 against this wager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, Gurriel faces Mitchell Parker for the Washington Nationals, whose 4.65 ERA and 1.33 WHIP are less than impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even his advanced stats, per Baseball Savant, paint an ugly picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8th-percentile K rate (15.2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14th-percentile hard-hit rate (46.8)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Parker barely strikes out batters and gives up a lot of power. It sounds like a great time to back Gurriel amidst his hot streak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> In yesterday&#8217;s matchup, Gurriel cleared this line with two hits and a walk in four plate appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best MLB pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rodriguez over 0.5 runs (+115)<\/strong>: Rodriguez has been the consistent force in an inconsistent Mariners lineup over the seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His teammate Cal Raleigh is enjoying a monstrous season, but it&#8217;s no surprise J-Rod ranks just behind him for most hitting stats:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10 home runs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>32 RBI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>37 runs scored<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That includes scoring 14 runs in his last 22 games with a .295 BA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rodriguez has only faced Twins starter Chris Paddack once, but went 2-for-3 off of him in that contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has a good shot to reach base more than once, giving his teammates ample opportunity to drive him home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\"><em>MLB prop picks made at 8:35 a.m. ET on 06\/01\/2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s MLB action all day Sunday, and I&#8217;m targeting three sluggers.
