He has a juicy matchup tonight, and I expect the damage to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\">Check out my top MLB prop bets for May 28, featuring predictions on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/yusei_kikuchi\/pitching-stats\">Yusei Kikuchi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/clarke_schmidt\/pitching-stats\">Clarke Schmidt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">MLB prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Best bet: Raleigh over 1.5 total bases (+104)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s impossible to see this matchup and not sniff out Raleigh\u2019s props.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Raleigh leads the American League with 19 homers and is well on his way to his third straight 30-homer season.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He\u2019s slugging .603 and has a .975 OPS, numbers that far exceed his career-best marks.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In May, Raleigh has nine homers, is slugging .692 and has a 1.109 OPS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By wRC+, the only player who has been better this month is Aaron Judge.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Raleigh is crushing both lefties and righties and his Seattle Mariners get the struggling Washington Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams has allowed four-plus runs in five straight starts, entering with an unsightly 6.39 ERA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The switch-hitting Raleigh will at least start the game from the left side, and left-handed batters have demolished Williams (.379 average, 1.018 OPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams will be followed by a Nats bullpen that has the worst ERA (6.22) in the National League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Raleigh is coming off a two-homer game and has cleared this line in five of his last seven contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:114247\">Embed: #114247<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"insights\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full MLB betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"insights\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MLB stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best MLB picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kikuchi under 17.5 outs (-113)<\/strong>: Among my many misses last night was a fade on Kikuchi\u2019s teammate and fellow left-hander Tyler Anderson, who worked six frames.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anderson held his own against the powerful New York Yankees and Kikuchi is an objectively better pitcher who has the stuff to carve up a lineup when he\u2019s on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he\u2019s also wild, has a diminished K rate and faces the best left-handed hitting team in MLB.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New York has terrorized southpaws this season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No. 1 in wRC (145)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No. 1 in SLG (.502)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No. 1 homers (26)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No. 1 in BB% (11.1%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Asking any lefty to record six-plus innings against the Bronx Bombers is a big request, let alone one who has walked four batters in four of his last seven starts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over that stretch, Kikuchi is 2-5 against this line after clearing 17.5 outs in four straight outings to begin the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Angels are off tomorrow and their bullpen has been used lightly considering they&#8217;re playing for the 13th straight day. So we shouldn&#8217;t expect the club to shy away from the group over fatigue concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Schmidt over 6.5 Ks (+115)<\/strong>: This is a big line but a number that&#8217;s worth biting on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three straight starters have cleared this vs. the Angels, including Schmidt&#8217;s teammates Ryan Yarbrough and Carlos Rodon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Schmidt is only 2-5 vs. this line but has a 65th-percentile K rate and a more impressive 79th-percentile whiff rate. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The righty&#8217;s K\/9 rate is not far off from 2024, when he ranked 30th among 157 pitchers in that category (minimum 80 innings pitched). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Los Angeles strikes out more than any team in baseball. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 29-year-old Schmidt struck out eight in a brief outing his last time out after going six innings in three straight starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has struggled with control but should benefit against an Angels club that has the second-lowest walk rate in MLB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\"><em>MLB prop picks made at 1:30 p.m. ET on 05\/28\/2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Power-hitting catcher Cal Raleigh headlines Wednesday&#8217;s top MLB prop picks.
