The NBA-best Thunder have looked the part behind MVP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/shai_gilgeous_alexander\">Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a> and can take a commanding lead with a road victory at Target Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my Thunder vs. Timberwolves SGP predictions for Game 3 on May 24, featuring plays on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/anthony_edwards\">Anthony Edwards<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/julius_randle\">Julius Randle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thunder vs. Timberwolves predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parlay: Timberwolves to win | <strong><strong><strong><strong>Edwards<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> 3+ threes | Randle over 17.5 points (+425)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Timberwolves moneyline (+120): <\/strong>My confidence in the Timberwolves winning this series has gone from moderate to non-existent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Thunder handled business at home. But more than the two wins, it was the way they did it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They won Game 1 by 26 points and Game 2 by 15.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oklahoma City won the rebounding and turnover battle in both games.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OKC, the NBA\u2019s No. 1 defence, held the T-wolves to 38.2% shooting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Thunder held Edwards to a combined 14-for-39 from the field (4-of-17 from long range).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Edwards was especially quiet in Game 1, and Randle was a ghost in Game 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The potential edge Rudy Gobert can provide as the biggest player on the court hasn\u2019t been there, as he\u2019s been held to seven points and 12 rebounds.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, I don\u2019t think the Timberwolves are getting swept. Game 3 is the one to back them in straight up, and we\u2019re getting excellent value here as a home underdog.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minnesota is no slouch, it has just run into its toughest opponent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No. 6-seeded Timberwolves finished 16 games over .500 and fourth in net rating (top 10 in both offence\/defence).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They then dispatched a flawed, yet dangerous, Los Angeles Lakers team in five games before wiping the floor with the Steph Curry-less Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Thunder can be beaten \u2014 the Denver Nuggets took them to seven games. And while the T-wolves don\u2019t have a Nikola Jokic-like X-factor, I do expect their biggest stars to power a Game 3 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minnesota is 4-1 at home in the playoffs and 9-1 at Target Center over its last 10 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:114108\">Embed: #114108<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/basketball\/nba?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_nba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full NBA betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nba-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NBA injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/top-players?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NBA stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NBA SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Edwards 3+ threes<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> (-200):<\/strong> There\u2019s little doubt that Edwards will be chucking in Game 3.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His 26 attempts from the field in Game 2 were tied for the second-most he\u2019s taken this postseason. That led to 32 points (he scored 18 in Game 1) despite shooting 1-of-9 from distance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edwards has taken eight-plus shots from the perimeter in all but two playoff games (Games 1 and 2 vs. Golden State).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While he\u2019s no guarantee for three triples at that volume, he&#8217;s a good bet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 23-year-old star is 7-5 against this line in the postseason and averaged 4.1 threes in the regular season, second in the NBA to Curry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Randle over 17.5 points<\/strong> <\/strong>(-113)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>: This leg feels more risky than Edwards, but I&#8217;m not sure it should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Randle\u2019s scoring is up considerably in the playoffs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He\u2019s averaging 22.6 PPG after dropping 18.7 in the regular season.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Randle is coming off his worst postseason performance (six points), but lit up the Thunder for 28 in Game 1.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The power forward is 10-2 against this line and shooting 50.3% from the field. That includes a stellar 37.5% clip from long range.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Randle only took 11 shots last game, matching his lowest mark this postseason. The Game 2 loss was also the second time he failed to take more than three 3-point attempts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Give the Thunder defence credit, but Randle has earned the benefit of doubt that a rebound is likely.
