As of May 21, Tommy Fleetwood, Daniel Berger, Hideki Matsuyama and Jordan Spieth are the only other players in the field with odds shorter than 28-to-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-6c37cb08-cf64-44cf-857a-d9409b9361a5\">Check out my Charles Schwab Challenge picks for the 2025 PGA Tour tournament beginning on April 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c42e5bcd-3d78-44a9-a94a-015d114981be\">Charles Schwab Challenge picks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Best bet: Scheffler to win (+225)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I picked Scheffler to win last week at +500, and he did so by five shots. In the start before that, he boat raced the field by eight strokes at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You probably don&#8217;t need me to tell you how dominant Scheffler is, but I&#8217;ll do it anyway:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scheffler is gaining an average of +3.37 strokes per round over the last three months, according to DataGolf. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The gap between him and Berger (the next closest player in this field at +1.84) is the same between Berger and Matt Wallace (the 59th-ranked player). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Texan hasn&#8217;t missed the cut in the last two seasons, winning 11 times with a 62.1% top-five finish rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you&#8217;re worried about a major championship hangover, don&#8217;t be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scheffler won the RBC Heritage last year the week after securing a second green jacket at the Masters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is this a boring pick? Sure. But there&#8217;s no reason to believe Scheffler will slow down at a course he&#8217;s dominated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Scheffler has two runner-ups and a T3 in his last three starts at Colonial Country Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"cacheembed:114058\">Embed: #114058<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Go to full <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/event\/1023027312\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/event\/1023755882\">Charles Schwab Challenge betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c1e817ca-a7f4-4be8-8332-7ac0c6f20f4b\">Golf picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Berger top-20 finish (+125):<\/strong> Berger didn&#8217;t bring his A-game last week, but ended on a high note with a final-round 68 to finish T33.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The American has now made 10 straight cuts, finishing inside the top 20 six times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>That includes a T3 at the RBC Heritage and a T2 at the WM Phoenix Open.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berger won this event in 2020 and finished T20 and T23 the two years after that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He&#8217;s an accurate driver and an elite ball striker (third in SG: APP in this field over the last three months).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>English top-20 finish (+163):<\/strong> English is coming off a runner-up last week, marking his best finish ever at a major championship. This seems like a great venue for the veteran to stay hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>English has four top-20 finishes in his last five starts and is up to 27th on DataGolf&#8217;s worldwide ranking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He ranks inside the top 25 in this field for strokes gained: putting (25th), off-the-tee (21st), and approach (11th) over the last three months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 35-year-old finished fifth at this event in 2012, second in 2016 and 12th in 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">English already has one win on his ledger this season at the Farmers Insurance Open in February. He has a strong chance of contending this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Campbell top-40 finish (+200):<\/strong> I&#8217;ll take a flier on Brian Campbell posting a solid finish on a course tailor-made for his game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 32-year-old is one of the shortest drivers on tour, but he&#8217;s also one of the most accurate. That will be rewarded here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And he does nearly everything else well, frequently gaining strokes putting, around-the-greens, and on approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Campbell finished T55 at the PGA Championship \u2014 a course heavily geared toward distance off-the-tee \u2014 and had three top 40s in four starts before that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Charles Schwab Challenge picks made at 2:06 p.m. on 05\/21\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scottie Scheffler headlines the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club.
