Winnipeg is favoured to extend its series against the Dallas Stars on home ice, while the Carolina Hurricanes are a road favourite in D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8f1effd0-db18-40a8-916e-091372420d9e\">Check out my NHL prop bets for May 15, which include predictions on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/andrei_svechnikov\">Andrei Svechnikov<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/miro_heiskanen\">Miro Heiskanen<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">NHL prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Best bet: Svechnikov over 2.5 shots (-143)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the most appetizing price, but I&#8217;ll make up for it later with a plus-money play on Heiskanen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carolina has been dominating Washington at even strength this series, and Svechnikov&#8217;s line has been at the heart of it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebastian Aho, Jackson Blake and Svechnikov have 32:19 of ice time at 5v5 this series, according to Natural Stat Trick. They&#8217;ve outchanced the opposition 51-to-28 (65.56% Corsi rate) and haven&#8217;t allowed a goal against.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carolina&#8217;s top line hasn&#8217;t scored a 5v5 goal either, which is why I&#8217;m looking toward a shot prop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Svechnikov has cleared this total in three of four games and five of his last six dating back to the first round against the New Jersey Devils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Russian winger is leading Carolina with 33 shot attempts and 16 scoring chances (quality looks) this series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 10 of those have found the net, meaning we could be in for some positive regression if Svechnikov keeps firing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: Svechnikov is leading all skaters with 76 shot attempts this postseason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:113775\">Embed: #113775<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/ice_hockey\/nhl?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=sportsbook_nhl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Full NHL betting markets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nhl-injury-report?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=injury_reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NHL injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/top-skaters?utm_source=insights&amp;utm_medium=text_link&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_campaign=stats_pages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NHL stats &amp; standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best NHL picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heiskanen to record a point (+140):<\/strong> I understand Heiskanen just returned from a 42-game injury absence, but this price seems too good to pass up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Finnish defenceman logged just under 15 minutes of ice time in Game 4 and contributed with an assist in Dallas&#8217; 3-1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heiskanen&#8217;s playoff resume is incredible for a 25-year-old. He has 62 points in 82 career postseason games, including 16 points in 19 contests last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also have to factor in the play of Connor Hellebuyck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The soon-to-be Vezina winner has fallen apart (again) in the playoffs.
