{"id":346504,"date":"2025-05-14T15:53:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T19:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/?p=346504"},"modified":"2025-05-14T15:53:54","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T19:53:54","slug":"pga-championship-long-shot-picks-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/pga-championship-long-shot-picks-for-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Best long shot picks to win the PGA Championship: Back Keegan Bradley, Max Homa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s PGA Championship week, so let&#8217;s take a look at some long-shot options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The latest:<\/strong> Three players \u2014 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau \u2014 hold odds shorter than 10-to-1 at Quail Hollow. But I&#8217;m looking way down the odds board at Keegan Bradley and Max Homa, the latter of whom has won at this venue before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-6c37cb08-cf64-44cf-857a-d9409b9361a5\">Check out my PGA Championship long shot picks for the major championship beginning on May 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c42e5bcd-3d78-44a9-a94a-015d114981be\">PGA Championship long shot picks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Best bet: Bradley to win (+10,000)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my opinion, only a handful of players have a chance this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My best bet for the event is Scheffler (exciting, I know), and the likes of McIlroy and DeChambeau are sure to be popular options as well. That trio holds a combined 34.4% win probability, according to DataGolf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But we&#8217;ll still take a stab at a few long shots, starting with Bradley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain has been playing solid golf this season, with six top-10 finishes in 11 starts. That includes a T5 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bradley can bomb the ball off-the-tee, which will be important on a long and wet golf course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has also been a superb iron player (ranking 23rd on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach) and owns a solid short game (29th in strokes gained: around-the-green).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lot will have to go right for Bradley to win, but I can dig these 100-to-1 odds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Bradley has made three straight cuts at Quail Hollow, finishing T18, T35, and T21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.com\/sportsbook\/sports\/golf\/events\/11239953\">Full PGA Championship betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c1e817ca-a7f4-4be8-8332-7ac0c6f20f4b\">Quick PGA Championship picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Homa to win (+15,000):<\/strong> Exactly one year ago today, Homa was the No. 9 ranked player in the world &#8230; now, he sits 78th with just one top-20 finish in his last 11 starts. Yikes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I&#8217;m willing to take a flier on the six-time PGA Tour winner for a few reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Homa has made three straight cuts, highlighted by a surprise T12 at the Masters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He&#8217;s picked up strokes on approach and putting in two of those three starts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He has a spectacular history at Quail Hollow, winning here in 2019 with consecutive T8 finishes in 2023 and 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s hope the friendly confines of this venue help Homa build on his rising play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>PGA Championship long shot picks made at 9:23 a.m. on 05\/14\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s PGA Championship week, so let&#8217;s take a look at some long-shot options.
