Walks don&#8217;t help us here but I think this is the perfect spot for Alvarez to break out with the bat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 13 at-bats against New York Mets starter Griffin Canning, he has seven hits (.539 batting average)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>That includes one double, two home runs and more walks (3) than strikeouts (2). <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Canning has a career ERA of 4.78 and is coming off his second-worst season in the majors (5.19 ERA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Astro&#8217;s top slugger sees Canning well and is in a great spot to have his first great game of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: In 2024, Yordan Alvarez racked up a career-high&nbsp;313 total bases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best MLB picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Muncy 1+ RBI (+190):<\/strong> Muncy&#8217;s had a rough start to the season; there&#8217;s no denying that. He has one hit in 14 at-bats and is looking for his first RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that he&#8217;ll be in a prime position to be productive tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In three plate appearances against Detroit Tigers starter Reese Olson, Muncy has one single, one walk and one home run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He batted .256 against right-handed pitching last season, with 41 RBI, per Fan Graphs. That&#8217;s much better than his .172 average against lefties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Olson on the mound, Muncy should continue hitting in the five-hole behind Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s a premium spot to be in to drive in some runs. I&#8217;ll gladly take a shot at this price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Guerrero Jr. over 1.5 total bases (-106)<\/strong>:<\/strong> There&#8217;s arguably no better matchup for a hitter on today&#8217;s slate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guerrero has seen Oriloes&#8217; starter Dean Kremer 30 times, batting .357 with 5 home runs and two doubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I know it&#8217;s only two games, but I&#8217;m convinced the slugger is in for a great season after his incredible second half of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had two walks on opening night, scoring one of the Blue Jays&#8217; two runs.
