Lastly, I love the value on a Cody Bellinger prop for his New York Yankees debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8f1effd0-db18-40a8-916e-091372420d9e\">Check out the best MLB prop bets for Thursday, March 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">MLB prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MLB Opening Day Boost: Jays to win &amp; Santander to homer.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/specials#?coupon=combination|3683993166,3687557455|10|replace\">Bet now (+578)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"insights\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb\">Full MLB betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"insights\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/mlb-injury-report\">MLB injury report<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"insights\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/top-players\/hitting\/OPS-on-base_plus_slugging\">MLB player stats<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"insights\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/mlb\/standings\/division\">MLB standings<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Best bet: Trout over 1.5 total bases (+120)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><a href=\"cacheembed:111786\">Embed: #111786<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\">Trout, the three-time MVP, needs little introduction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As long as he\u2019s healthy, which he is to start the season as the Los Angeles Angels\u2019 new right fielder, I\u2019ll look to pounce on his plus-money props early on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trout doesn\u2019t need to be old Trout to provide value.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s been limited to 111 games over the last two seasons, and while he didn\u2019t post MVP numbers, the power was still there when he was on the field.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Homers: 28<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slugging: .504<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OPS: .860<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Most players would sign up for that over 162 games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Angels face the Chicago White Sox, projected by FanGraphs to be the worst team in MLB with the least valuable pitching staff.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chicago is starting Sean Burke, who had a good September in his first taste of the bigs last year after posting good minor league strikeout numbers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he&#8217;s been erratic and struggled to keep the ball in the yard, which was the case in spring training this year, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: Trout hit three homers with a 1.026 OPS in 39 spring at-bats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best MLB picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alcantara under 4.5 Ks (+125)<\/strong>: So many stars go down with arm injuries every year, so it\u2019s always good to get one back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2022 NL Cy Young winner will make his first start since September 2023 after missing all of last season to Tommy John surgery.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alcantara\u2019s raw strikeout totals have been good (multiple 200-plus K seasons), but his K rates haven\u2019t been anything special. Pre-injury, he was an innings-eater, which allowed him to accumulate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And workload, I have to imagine, will be working against him on Thursday vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to MLB.com, the Miami Marlins ace threw fewer than 60 pitches in all five of his Grapefruit League outings. He never fanned more than three batters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most projection systems peg him as a below-average strikeout arm this season and this feels like a good value spot to fade him in what should be a lighter outing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lopez over 5.5 Ks (+115): <\/strong>This is a hard line to ignore at this price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minnesota Twins right-hander cleared this in 19 of 32 starts last season on his way to 198 strikeouts and a top-15 K rate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He made six starts in March\/April last year, topping this line five times and hitting 85-plus pitches in four of those outings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lopez got up to 87 pitches in a spring start 10 days ago (and 78 the one before that). So I\u2019m not really worried about his leash as long as he\u2019s effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And he has a solid matchup to start the year off right against the St. Louis Cardinals. FanGraphs projects St. Louis to be a below-average team with a poor offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLB prop bets: Top Bellinger pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bellinger over 1.5 total bases (+175)<\/strong>: Scouring the markets has its benefits. This price makes absolutely no sense to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In pinstripes for the first time Thursday, Bellinger is coming off a solid two-year run with the Chicago Cubs (44 homers, .475 SLG%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now he gets to attack the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium after doing this in spring training: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>.423\/.464\/.750<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 homers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14 runs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>213 wRC+<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s quite the first impression. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bellinger and the Yankees get Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta. At +175, you would think Peralta had Bellinger&#8217;s number. Not quite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The left-handed masher owns a .417\/.462\/.750 line vs. Peralta in 13 plate appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I don&#8217;t put much stock into that, it does further cement the value on Bellinger, who has a career .837 OPS vs. righties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\"><em>MLB prop picks made at 3:48 p.m. ET on 03\/26\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fourteen games, 28 teams, with the action starting just after 3 p.m. ET.
