I&#8217;m fading him while taking the over on Irving and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/paolo_banchero\">Paolo Banchero<\/a>&#8216;s point totals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8f1effd0-db18-40a8-916e-091372420d9e\">Check out the best NBA prop bets for Feb. 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">NBA prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/basketball\/nba\">Full NBA betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nba-injury-report\">NBA injury report<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/top-players\">NBA player stats<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/standings\">NBA standings<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Best bet: Irving over 27.5 points (-109)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:110344\">Embed: #110344<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Irving almost willed the Dallas Mavericks to a win over the Los Angeles Lakers the other night, and he must remain the offensive focal point of this Doncic-less team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doncic got hurt on Christmas Day and never played again for the Mavs. From that game onward, Irving has paced the team in per-game rates for minutes, points, shots, attempted 3s and free throws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most recently, the veteran guard has really dazzled as a scorer. Look at his past nine matchups for Dallas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>28.1 PPG<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30+ points in 5 of 9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>37.8 3PT%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>94.4 FT%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Irving dropped 35 points against the Lakers on Tuesday. He&#8217;s now hit the 30-point milestone in four of his past five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, Irving faces a Charlotte Hornets squad at the end of an excruciatingly long road trip. There was an all-star break in between, mind you, but Charlotte is about to play its ninth consecutive road game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the season, the Hornets are 5-23 on the road with a 116.2 defensive rating. That&#8217;s the seventh-worst defensive rating among all road teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Irving already toasted Charlotte once without Doncic this season, and I expect him to do it again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: On Jan. 20, Irving had 33 points on a game-high 24 shots against the Hornets in Charlotte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best NBA picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Doncic under 3.5 threes (-132)<\/strong>: I cashed this bet at plus money in Tuesday&#8217;s Mavericks\/Lakers game, and unfortunately the price has gone up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, based on his 3-point shooting struggles lately, this extra juice isn&#8217;t keeping me away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Doncic went 1-for-7 beyond the arc last time out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He&#8217;s shooting 26.9% from 3-point range over his past seven games, cashing this under six times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With Dallas, Doncic went under 3.5 threes in both matchups against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who he&#8217;ll face tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minnesota&#8217;s defence ranks sixth in both 3-point percentage (35.1%) and attempted 3s (36.1\/game).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banchero over 23.5 points (-124)<\/strong>: Banchero has gone over 23.5 points in four of his past six games despite posting a 39.3 FG% in that span.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How? By being a good old-fashioned volume shooter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banchero has the sixth-highest usage rate in the NBA (32.6%). He also attempts 32.1% of his team&#8217;s shots when he&#8217;s on the floor, which is the fourth-highest rate in the whole league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the Orlando Magic faced the Golden State Warriors earlier this month, Banchero finished with just 18 points despite chucking a game-high 24 shots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If he keeps up that kind of volume \u2014 and his season-long numbers say he can \u2014 this point total will always be attainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\"><em>Picks made at 9:30 a.m. ET on 02\/27\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are no longer teammates, but I&#8217;ve paired them up to be two of my three NBA prop targets for Thursday night.
