I&#8217;m expecting Daniel Berger, Sepp Straka and Davis Thompson to have big weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-6c37cb08-cf64-44cf-857a-d9409b9361a5\">Check out my Cognizant Classic predictions for the PGA Tour tournament beginning on Feb. 27<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c42e5bcd-3d78-44a9-a94a-015d114981be\">Cognizant Classic predictions predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Go to full <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.com\/sportsbook\/sports\/golf\/events\/9868698\">Cognizant Classic predictions betting markets<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/event\/1021457351\">.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Best bet: Berger to win (+2,000)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve been banging the Berger drum for a while and now it&#8217;s time to cash in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Floridian is coming off an up-and-down season after missing all of 2023 with a back injury but seems to be all the way back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Berger finished T2 at the WM Phoenix Open and followed that up with a solo 12th at the Genesis Invitational. <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In those events, he gained strokes in all four major categories (putting, around the green, approach, off the tee).  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berger has historically dominated at this venue with a pair of fourth-place finishes in 2020 and &#8217;22. He missed the cut last year but was fresh off a lengthy hiatus due to injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At his best, Berger is an elite iron player with a strong short game. That&#8217;ll play anywhere and is especially important at this venue, where bogeys are frequently brought into play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Berger&#8217;s +1.40 average strokes gained at PGA National ranks 10th among players with more than one start at this tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c1e817ca-a7f4-4be8-8332-7ac0c6f20f4b\">Quick picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Straka to win (+2,200):<\/strong> Straka is another player I&#8217;ve been high on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Austrian won the American Express in January and almost came through at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am \u2014 where I had him at +5,500 to win \u2014 taking a three-shot lead into the weekend before finishing T7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, he has five top-20 finishes in his last seven starts, buoyed by great iron play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Straka won this event in 2022 and finished T5 the following season. He is a must-bet in my book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thompson to win (+3,300):<\/strong> If Thompson hits his irons well, he&#8217;s got a good chance of winning this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s a bold declaration, but everything else is falling into place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this field, Thompson ranks seventh in both SG: ARG and SG: OTT over the last three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The putter hasn&#8217;t been a liability and he had a strong approach week in his last start (Genesis Invitational, T13).
