I&#8217;m fading Smith and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/deni_avdija\">Deni Avdija<\/a> while backing Portland to win in a +400 SGP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my Hornets vs. Trail Blazers same-game parlay predictions for Feb. 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hornets vs. Trail Blazers predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/basketball\/nba\">Full NBA betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nba-injury-report\">NBA injury report<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/top-players\">NBA player stats<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/standings\">NBA standings<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Parlay: Trail Blazers ML |<\/strong> <strong>Smith under 2.5 threes | Avdija under 6.5 rebounds (+400)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:110010\">Embed: #110010<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trail Blazers moneyline (-180):<\/strong> Portland is on a four-game losing streak, but all four of those losses came against reputable teams in the playoff picture (Timberwolves, Nuggets twice, Lakers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlotte is not even close to that calibre, with a 14-40 record and a Cooper-Flagg-sized lottery dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to its four-game skid, Portland had rattled off a 10-1 stretch in which all 10 wins came as the underdog. Even a play-in spot is a long shot at this point, but at least the Blazers are putting up a fight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Portland is 4-1 against Charlotte since the start of the 2022-23 season. That includes a 102-97 win for the Blazers in Charlotte last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hornets are 5-20 on the road with an unsightly -7.6 net rating (26th in the NBA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SGP legs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong>Smith under 2.5 threes <\/strong>(-162):<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> If Smith was going to go over 2.5 threes against the Blazers, he needed to do it last time out when both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/la_melo_ball\">LaMelo Ball<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/miles_bridges\">Miles Bridges<\/a> were out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, he turned in a 2-for-10 performance from beyond the arc to fall short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ball and Bridges combine to average 18.9 attempted 3s per game, so having them back in the lineup tonight should really cut down on Smith&#8217;s chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it&#8217;s not like Portland is a plus matchup for 3-point shooters, anyway. The Blazers allow the sixth-fewest makes (12.8\/game) and the third-fewest attempts (35.3\/game).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Avdija under 6.5 rebounds <\/strong>(+102):<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/deandre_ayton\">Deandre Ayton<\/a> is out tonight, but the Blazers still have enough size in their rotation that I just can&#8217;t get behind Avdija at this rebound number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by 7-foot-2 centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/donovan_clingan\">Donovan Clingan<\/a>, the Blazers have plenty of size in the frontcourt. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/robert_williams_iii\">Robert Williams<\/a> just came back from injury, too, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nba\/players\/toumani_camara\">Toumani Camara<\/a> has at least five rebounds in 12 of his past 13 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are simply too many mouths to feed on the glass, and Avdija isn&#8217;t asserting himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In his past nine matchups, Avdija has averaged 4.9 rebounds.
