I have picks on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/brock_boeser\">Brock Boeser<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/dylan_holloway\">Dylan Holloway<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out my NHL <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTcxMDU0JnA9MjMxODU%3D\">prop picks<\/a> for Feb. 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NHL prop picks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/ice_hockey\">NHL betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nhl-injury-report\"><strong>NHL injury report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\"><strong>NHL player stats<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\"><strong>NHL standings<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:109968\">Embed: #109968<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTcxMDU0JnA9MjMxODU%3D\">Best Bet<\/a>: Doughty to score 1+ points (-107)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doughty missed the first portion of the season recovering from injury, but what better way to shake off the rust than with a call-up to Team Canada?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the veteran defenceman played an important role in the Canadians&#8217; tournament win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He played just shy of 21 minutes in the final against the USA, the fourth most among Canada&#8217;s defencemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not bad for his 10th game of hockey since the injury. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In six appearances with the Los Angeles Kings this season, Doughty only has one point. But I truly believe playing on the international stage with the best players in the world will have a positive effect on him moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He&#8217;s playing typical top-defenceman minutes (26:57), but the production hasn&#8217;t matched &#8230; yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doughty recorded 50 points in 82 games last season and still has plenty left in the tank at 35 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> The Kings are 17-3-2 at home, scoring 3.3 goals per game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quick picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTcxMDU0JnA9MjMxODU%3D\">Boeser to score 1+ points (-107)<\/a>:<\/strong> The Vancouver Canucks have been the NHL&#8217;s most unpredictable team this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were outside a playoff spot for much of the season but are currently holding the final spot following a three-game win streak heading into the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canucks are much better on the road (15-8-4) than at home (11-10-7) and are the only team in the league with double-digit overtime losses (11).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They recently traded away top point producer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/j_t_miller\">J.T. Miller<\/a> and will be missing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/quinn_hughes\">Quinn Hughes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/elias_pettersson\">Elias Pettersson<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone will need to step up and my money&#8217;s on Boeser. The winger has eight points in the last 11 games and should see an uptick in playing time with Pettersson sidelined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boeser has logged 20-plus minutes in eight games this season, including in three of the last five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vegas Golden Knights provide a tough matchup, but that gives bettors a nice buy-low opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTcxMDU0JnA9MjMxODU%3D\">Holloway to score 1+ points (+105)<\/a>:<\/strong> Holloway was an impactful player for the Edmonton Oilers during their run to the Stanley Cup Final last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He used that strong play to earn a two-year contract with the St. Louis Blues. So far, he&#8217;s making the most of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holloway ranks third on the Blues in points with 40 in 56 games. Since Dec. 23, he has 21 points in 21 games and is 14-7 against this line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Winnipeg Jets allow the fewest goals per game (2.4) but they&#8217;re worse on the road and will be starting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/eric_comrie\">Eric Comrie<\/a> to give <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\/nhl\/players\/connor_hellebuyck\">Connor Hellebuyck<\/a> some much-needed rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Picks made at 10:30 a.m. ET on 02\/22\/2025.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"thestar\">Looking to get started? <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNzQxMyZsPTEzNTI3NDExJnA9MjMyNDM%3D\">Sign up here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NHL is back and I have three prop picks for Saturday&#8217;s loaded schedule.
