Minnesota is now riding a five-game win streak, which matches the longest active streak in the NBA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anthony Edwards in January: <br>30.3 ppg<br>.457 FG\/.439 3s<br>5.8r, 5.8a <br>First player in Wolves history to average 30, 5.5, 5.5 in a calendar month<\/p>&mdash; Jon Krawczynski (@JonKrawczynski) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonKrawczynski\/status\/1885330403805823373?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 31, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Edwards and the T-Wolves should keep the good times rolling tonight against the Wizards, who are the laughingstock of the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington has lost 16 in a row dating back to Jan. 3, and the team allows the most points per game (122.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, the Wizards allow the fourth-most PPG to opposing shooting guards, per Betting Pros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty of blowout potential in this matchup \u2014 Minnesota is a 16-point home favourite \u2014 but I&#8217;m not overly concerned. Edwards has played 30-plus minutes in 44 of 48 games this year, so it&#8217;s not like the T-Wolves have made a habit of pulling him in lopsided matchups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if it does turn into a rout, Edwards should be the main reason why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: Edwards has 30-plus points in nine of his past 15 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quick pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monk over 18.5 points (-125)<\/strong>: The Kings have three players averaging at least 20 points, and Monk isn&#8217;t one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he was heavily involved in January, and that might be a sign of things to come on a team that&#8217;s reaching a crossroads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NBA trade deadline looms on Thursday, and Sacramento guard De&#8217;Aaron Fox is among the top names being discussed. If Fox is moved, Monk would certainly be expected to take on a greater role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So maybe he&#8217;s just getting a bit of a head start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 13 games last month, Monk averaged 22.5 points on 17.5 field goal attempts.
