{"id":317837,"date":"2024-12-30T13:37:17","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T18:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/?p=317837"},"modified":"2024-12-30T13:54:31","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T18:54:31","slug":"nba-prop-bets-december-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.northstargaming.ca\/admin\/nsgcms\/nba-prop-bets-december-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Best NBA prop bets Dec. 30: Back Jamal Murray against Jazz, Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Wizards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\">Monday&#8217;s NBA schedule features seven games and I have three prop picks for the slate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84329f2b-7888-4034-9979-03e8608897e5\"><strong>The pregame narrative<\/strong>: My favourite bet is a play on Canadian Jamal Murray, while wagers on Josh Giddey and Karl-Anthony Towns round out the recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8f1effd0-db18-40a8-916e-091372420d9e\">Check out the best NBA prop bets for Dec. 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">NBA prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Go to full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.com\/sportsbook\/sports\/basketball\/competitions\/10240\">NBA betting markets<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong>Best bet: Murray over 23.5 points (-108)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russell Westbrook has started the last two games for the Denver Nuggets and it appears he&#8217;ll remain in the starting five while Aaron Gordon is sidelined.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That shifts Murray into even more of a scoring role and he&#8217;s responded emphatically in the last two games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Murray is coming off a season-high 34-point contest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He had 27 points in the game before that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In three games alongside Westbrook in the starting unit, Murray is averaging 29.7 points and shooting above 50% from the perimeter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The small sample is encouraging and will hopefully unlock more out of Murray, whose numbers are down this season.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the lineup bump, Murray has a favourable matchup on Monday against the Utah Jazz.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utah is last in the NBA in defensive efficiency, surrendering just shy of 120 points per game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team has been punished by guards, allowing the fourth-most points to point guards and the third-most to shooting guards (per Betting Pros).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Murray dropped 22 on 10-of-18 shooting versus the Jazz last month, and tonight&#8217;s game has the highest total of the evening (240 points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: December has been Murray&#8217;s highest-scoring month and he&#8217;s topped this line in five of his last six games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quick picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Giddey over 13.5 assists\/rebounds (-130)<\/strong>: Giddey returned from a near-two-week absence on Saturday, recording a massive triple-double against the Milwaukee Bucks in 29 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first-year Chicago Bull had season-highs of 23 points and 15 rebounds while adding 10 assists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It brought his assist\/rebound average for the month up to 17.0 per game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He&#8217;s 5-2 versus this line in December and had 16 assists\/rebounds when he faced the Charlotte Hornets on Dec. 13.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giddey has always been a solid rebounder (7.2\/game for his career) and he enters the night averaging a career-best 7.0 assists per game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Towns over 24.5 points (-125)<\/strong>: The New York Knicks get the Washington Wizards for the second time in three nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jalen Brunson stole the show with a 55-point performance on Saturday. But Towns did damage, too, dropping a 30-piece with 14 rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was another example of the Wizards getting shredded by a centre (they allow the most PPG to the position) and Towns taking advantage of a plus matchup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how Towns has done versus the six teams that allow the most points to centres:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vs. Wizards: 30 pts, 24 pts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. Suns: 34 pts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. Jazz: 16 pts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. Bulls: 46 pts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. Hawks: 34 pts, 19 pts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vs. Raptors: 31 pts, 24 pts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That works out to an average of 28.6 points, a nice bump from his season average (24.5). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brunson is questionable as of Monday&#8217;s early afternoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.com\/sportsbook\/news\/article\/nba-injury-report-news\">NBA injury report<\/a>.
