The Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams square off in a contest with playoff implications on Sunday Night Football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pregame narrative:<\/strong> DeVonta Smith is out for the Eagles. That directs my attention toward a pair of Philadelphia pass-catchers in this contest. A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert will likely have increased roles with the star wide receiver sidelined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Bet: Brown over 91.5 receiving yards (-114)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Injuries have limited Brown’s season-long totals but he’s been very effective when healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown has topped 80 receiving yards in five of seven games this season, cresting the 100-yard mark in three of those contests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smith’s absence is the main reason why I’m interested in this wager, though, as Jalen Hurts will likely be forced to lock in on his top target even more than usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eagles don’t have another player capable of stepping up the way Brown can. No other wide receiver on the roster outside of Brown and Smith has more than 110 receiving yards this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown faces a very beatable Rams secondary in this matchup. They’re allowing the third-most yards per pass (7.5) in the NFL this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles also doesn’t have anybody who’ll shadow Brown, so bettors don’t have to worry about a difficult one-on-one matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest threat to this wager is the Rams putting two defenders on Brown. While that is certainly a possibility, I doubt he’ll see double coverage the entire night and I like Brown to be the go-to guy as the Eagles continue to vie for first place in the NFC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key stat:<\/strong> Brown is sixth among all NFL receivers in yards per reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quick pick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Goedert over 49.5 receiving yards (-109):<\/strong> Goedert is the other player I expect to step up and have a big game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tight end is third among all Eagles pass catchers in receiving yards (387). Like Brown, he’ll be asked to help lessen the blow of Smith’s injury absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goedert has dealt with injuries this season as well, but he’s coming off a really strong performance. The Philadelphia star hauled in all five of his targets for 61 yards against the Washington Commanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matchup is working in Goedert’s favour, too. The Rams are surrendering the fifth-most yards per game to tight ends (62.3) this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
