After a two-game appetizer to kick off the season, NBA fans are treated to 10 games on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pregame narrative<\/strong>: I have three players I’m targeting on the prop market: James Harden, Ja Morant and Jalen Duren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBA prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Best Bet: Harden under 9.5 assists (+100)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It might take time getting used to being a No. 1 option again but I don’t think Harden will have any issue with that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The veteran guard has been in a secondary scoring role for the past few seasons, which has seen his points total dip and his assist production soar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even in more of a distribution role, this is a big number to hit. But Harden is the bonafide No. 1 scoring option for the Los Angeles Clippers \u2014 beginning tonight versus the Phoenix Suns \u2014 as long as Kawhi Leonard remains on the shelf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harden went under this number eight times in 11 games last season without Leonard and Paul George, according to StatMuse. Leonard is out indefinitely and George is no longer a Clipper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 35-year-old Harden has been a huge shot-taker in the past and will be given every opportunity to do so to start the Clippers’ season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efficiency might be a concern as his volume naturally increases but Harden’s scoring should jump a level from what we’ve seen in his post-Houston Rockets era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, I’m not sure we should view him as a double-digit-assist player to begin the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key stat<\/strong>: Harden averaged 8.5 assists last season, going under this number in 45 of his 72 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quick picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Morant over 33.5 points\/assists (-107)<\/strong>: We can take what Morant did over nine games last season with a grain of salt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He missed the first two months serving a suspension and was done less than a month later after sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury that required surgery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, Morant was still impressive, averaging 25.1 points per game, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds. He shot above 80% from the line for the first time in his career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaren Jackson is out tonight, meaning Morant and Desmond Bane should feast, particularly in what looks like a plus matchup against the Utah Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jazz were last in the NBA in defensive rating in 2023-24 and ranked 30th in opponent 3-point percentage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the small sample of games Morant played last season, his 3-point volume increased slightly and he scored 25-plus points for the third consecutive year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has averaged north of this line in each of his last two full seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duren over 11.5 rebounds (-118):<\/strong> The Detroit Pistons’ third-year big man feasted in this matchup last year and was a monster on the boards all season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duren was fifth in the NBA in rebounds per game, averaging 11.6 in his sophomore season. He topped that number, and this line, in all three matchups versus the Indiana Pacers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 20-year-old centre had 12 rebounds against the Pacers in March and 13 apiece in two games before that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indiana was a bottom-five rebounding team last season and is running back much of the same squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duren will deal with a soft-rebounding frontcourt tonight in Myles Turner and Pascal Siakam. He should have plenty of chances to clean up on the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
