Toman<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Buffalo has dominated this matchup recently, winning four of the last five meetings. A bunch of those games have been shootouts but I don’t think Josh Allen has the weapons to keep up on Thursday. Allen willed the Bills to victory in Week 1 after a dreadful first half. Miami simply has more talent in the air and on the ground, and covered this number in six of their seven home wins last season.
Pick<\/strong>: Dolphins -2.5<\/p>\n\n\n\nNFL Week 2 ATS picks: The Sunday slate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Horrobin<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Both teams won by multiple touchdowns in Week 1, but the Cowboys had a much higher degree of difficulty (at Browns) than the Saints (vs. Panthers). Dallas was a wrecking ball at home last year, going 8-1 with a +17.3 average point differential. I\u2019d rather bet on that trend than on Derek Carr.
Pick<\/strong>: Cowboys -6<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri<\/strong> says<\/strong>: My prediction for this game: Baltimore dominates the trenches and makes Gardner Minshew’s life miserable. The Chargers rushed for 176 yards at 6.5 per carry against the Raiders in Week 1. Derrick Henry will feast and Baltimore’s defence should look better in its second game with a new coordinator.
Pick<\/strong>: Ravens -8.5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closs<\/strong> says<\/strong>: In Danny Dimes, we do not trust. New York’s QB completed 22-of-42 passes for 186 yards against the Vikings last week. The result was no TDs, two INTs and six points scored by the Giants’ offence. Jayden Daniels completed 17-of-24 of his passes and added 88 yards rushing in his NFL debut for Washington. He already looks more reliable than his counterpart just one game into his career.
Pick<\/strong>: Commanders -1.5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Horrobin<\/strong> says<\/strong>: The Chargers passed their first test of the Jim Harbaugh era, winning 22-10 as 3-point favourites last week over the Raiders. Now they\u2019ll face the Panthers, who lost by 37 last week and have averaged 12.2 points\/game in Bryce Young\u2019s career. Who\u2019s got it better than the Bolts? Nobody!
Pick<\/strong>: Chargers -6<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Horrobin<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Backing Malik Willis isn\u2019t for the faint of heart, but this pick is more about Green Bay\u2019s run game. Why can\u2019t the Packers replicate the rushing success that Indy allowed to the Texans last week (213 yards on 40 carries)? Green Bay is 5-1 straight up as a home underdog since 2021, so I\u2019ll take the field goal\u2019s worth of cushion.
Pick<\/strong>: Packers +3<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri<\/strong> says<\/strong>: No Christian McCaffrey, no problem. The Niners routed the Jets on Sunday Night Football behind a big Jordan Mason performance and I think the offence will be even better now that Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams have reps. Sam Darnold had a strong first game with the Vikings but was playing the bottom-feeding Giants. San Francisco’s defence will have him seeing ghosts.
Pick<\/strong>: 49ers -5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri<\/strong> says<\/strong>: It’s safe to say the Browns are absolutely screwed with Deshaun Watson under centre. The quarterback completed just 24-of-45 attempts (53.3%) for 169 yards while throwing two interceptions, ranking last in EPA per play among all quarterbacks. I can’t trust him to do anything especially with David Njoku out and three starting offensive linemen questionable.
Pick<\/strong>: Jaguars -3<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Toman<\/strong> says<\/strong>: The Patriots were the biggest Week 1 underdog and walked away with a win. But I’m not buying their victory over the Bengals, who went into Week 1 a total mess. The Seahawks weren’t incredible but they won by six and have another soft spot. They got big production from RB Kenneth Walker, and the rushing game was not something New England had to contend with versus Cincinnati.
Pick<\/strong>: Seahawks -3.5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closs<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Aaron Rodgers looked good in his return but the Jets were in over their head against the 49ers on the road. A Week 2 game against the Titans looks a lot more winnable. Tennessee blew a 17-0 lead to the Bears in Week 1 and ended up losing 24-17. Will Levis turned the ball over three times and I expect the Jets’ defence to have a field day with the young QB.
Pick<\/strong>: Jets -3.5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closs<\/strong> says<\/strong>: The Lions were fortunate enough to win the toss and score on their first drive in overtime to beat the Rams in Week 1. Baker Mayfield led the Bucs to a 37-20 win over the Commanders with four touchdown passes and 289 yards passing. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are still two of the better pass catchers in the league and I think Tampa Bay’s offence is good enough to keep pace with the Lions in Detroit.
Pick<\/strong>: Buccanneers +7.5<\/p>\n\n\n\nNFL 4 p.m. slate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Perri says<\/strong>: The Rams were a coin toss away from potentially defeating the Lions in overtime last week. I’ll back them as a road dog against the Cardinals even without Puka Nacua. Arizona’s defence was awful last year and didn’t look much better in Week 1, ranking 31st in defensive EPA per play. Sean McVay is also 13-3 against the Cards since taking over as head coach in 2017.
Pick<\/strong>: Rams +1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perri<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Starting seasons slow is officially a massive problem for Joe Burrow. The No. 1 pick is now 0-3 in his last five Week 1 games and has never won in Week 2. I have a hard time believing his wrist is at 100% and am fading until proven otherwise. Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes looked like the defending champs and should roll.
Pick<\/strong>: Chiefs -5<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closs<\/strong> says<\/strong>: The Broncos scored 20 points in Week 1 but there’s more to the story. Denver scored four points off of safeties and Bo Nix scored a rushing touchdown in garbage time making it a one-possession game. Seattle’s defence picked off Nix twice and I think the Steelers’ defence is one of the best in the league.

Horrobin<\/strong> says<\/strong>: Caleb Williams\u2019 defence bailed him out in his debut, but I doubt that storyline will repeat itself in Houston. C.J. Stroud threw for 310.8 pass yards\/game at home last year, and the Texans went 6-2 in those games. I think Houston winning by a TD margin is more than reasonable against a quarterback who\u2019s still finding his footing.
