Elsewhere, I&#8217;m backing Luiz Arraez to score a run against the Tampa Bay Rays, while fading Ronel Blanco in a tough matchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out how I&#8217;m backing them in the top <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">MLB prop bets<\/a> for Sept. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-0a4ee124-09d4-4260-81c9-fd6fe232dbb3\">MLB prop bets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"insights\">MLB Markets:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/sports-hub\/baseball\/mlb\">Click Here<\/a>&nbsp;| MLB Stats:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarbets.ca\/sportsbook\/news\/stats\">Click Here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-479767b6-5872-497b-ac44-239c07c7e3d5\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Best bet<\/a>: Soto over 1.5 total bases (-117)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:93260\">Embed: #93260<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soto has been cold at the plate but I think he has the matchup to have an offensive explosion so I&#8217;m jumping in at this <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">buy-low price<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since August 16, he has a .167 batting average in 14 starts. But let me (and Baseball Savant) remind you just how good Soto is at the plate with some numbers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>94.2mph average exit velocity (98th percentile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>56.2% hard-hit rate (99th percentile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>.672 xSLG (100th percentile)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Not that you needed reminding but those stats are too nice not to share. Soto is arguably the best pure hitter in baseball so while backing him in the middle of a slump is risky, getting good value on his player props is the reward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The matchup is just as important, however, and the Yankees&#8217; slugger has a nice one today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miles Mikolas is an inning-eater for the Cardinals but he does so inefficiently. The 36-year-old has a 5.23 ERA this season across 149.2 innings pitched. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soto is 6-for-19 (.313 BA) with a double and a home run off of Mikolas and luckily for bettors, the righty has only walked 24 batters all year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New York&#8217;s right fielder is the best in the majors at taking walks but today I expect him to have an efficient outing with the bat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key stat<\/strong>: Soto has recorded at least one hit in each of his six career games against Mikolas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-fa134a48-a478-432b-95e0-66881f0d337b\">Quick picks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\"><strong>Blanco under 5.5 strikeouts (-127):<\/strong> <\/a>This isn&#8217;t a number Blanco cashes frequently and the Kansas City Royals don&#8217;t allow pitchers to surpass the mark often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:93261\">Embed: #93261<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with the latter. Despite Yusei Kikuchi throwing a masterclass of a game yesterday and recording 12 Ks across 7.0 IP, the Royals don&#8217;t strike out much. In fact, they strike out the second-fewest times per game (6.86).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of that, Blanco has six or fewer Ks in eight of his last 12 starts. Everything points to the under here as I don&#8217;t see the Astro&#8217;s starter replicating what his teammate did a night ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">Arraez over 0.5 runs (+125):<\/a><\/strong> I&#8217;m always giddy to find a <a href=\"https:\/\/online.northstarbets.ca\/page?key=ej0xMzUyNDU3MiZsPTEzNTc4NzU5JnA9MjM3Njk%3D\">plus-money<\/a> bet that I like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"cacheembed:93262\">Embed: #93262<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, Arraez hits lead off in a potent San Diego Padres&#8217; offence, giving the first baseman ample opportunities to score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, he faces Ryan Pepiot and he&#8217;s had success against him before. Arraez has eight plate appearances against the Rays starter and reached base in four of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not surprising as the Padres&#8217; leadoff man is one of the best contact hitters in baseball.
