Betting insights

  • The Jets are the first team in NHL history to win 15 of its first 16 games. Tonight, they visit the Lightning as the slight underdog. Winnipeg is first in goals for (4.56) while allowing the fewest goals per game (2.13).
  • The reigning Stanley Cup champion Panthers rode a seven-game winning streak into this two-game series against New Jersey. However, the Devils took the first game, 4-1, and now they are running it back. New Jersey is meeting preseason expectations by leading the Metropolitan up to this point.
  • Another team to keep an eye on is the Wild. They are 10-2-3, and winger Kirill Kaprizov is second in the NHL with 28 points. They face the Canadiens, who allow the most goals against (4.13) per game.
  • Are the Oilers starting to make a run? Edmonton has won back-to-back games since Connor McDavid returned. The captain has seven points in his last two games, and this is starting to look like the team that made a run to the Stanley Cup Final. They play the 5-9-2 Predators at home.
