NHL anytime goal picks Nov. 11: Back Nathan MacKinnon, Kyle Connor on Tuesday

NHL goal picks Nov. 11

Two elite point producers contribute to Tuesday’s goalscorer picks.

The pregame narrative: Nathan MacKinnon leads the NHL in goals and has a nice opportunity to add another tally against the Anaheim Ducks. Also in the late-night slate, look for Kyle Connor to take advantage of a struggling Vancouver Canucks defence.

NHL goal picks Nov. 11

Best Bet: MacKinnon to score (-113)

MacKinnon isn’t often referred to as the best player in the NHL, but he’s arguably the most consistent.

He’s finished the last three seasons with at least 30 goals and 110 points. That includes a 51-goal season back in 2023-24.

This year, he’s on pace to smash that total.

MacKinnon leads the way with 14 goals. That’s an incredible 72-goal pace over an entire season.

-> Bet on MacKinnon and the Avalanche tonight!

Will he top the 70-goal mark? Probably not, but no one would be all that shocked if he did.

And this is a good matchup for him to add to his total.

The Ducks allow the eighth-most shots per game (30.0) and have a below average penalty kill (76.5%, 22nd).

Key stat: MacKinnon has eight goals in the past seven games.

NHL predictions

Connor to score (+128): The Winnipeg Jets are another team with a soft matchup on Tuesday.

And Connor leads the team in multiple categories:

  • T-1st in goals (9)
  • 1st in shots (58).
  • 1st among forwards in ice time (20:25)

-> Join NorthStar Bets to bet on Connor now

He should have many opportunities to do damage against a Canucks defence that is bottom-seven for goals and shots allowed with the second-worst penalty kill in the NHL (67.9%).

Vancouver has allowed three or more goals in six straight games, conceding an average of 4.2 goals during that time.

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins prop predictions Nov. 11: Tavares, Geekie should be active in offensive zone

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins predictions

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins quickly renew their rivalry on Tuesday night.

The pregame narrative: The Leafs lost to the Bruins on Saturday and have now dropped back-to-back games heading into TD Garden. There was a lot of offence in that game, and I expect more of the same in the rematch.

Check out my Maple Leafs vs. Bruins predictions for the game on Nov. 11, featuring picks on John Tavares and Morgan Geekie.

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins predictions

Best Bet: Tavares over 2.5 shots on goal (-163)

Quick disclaimer, neither of my picks for this game have the most appealing odds, but if you can stomach the price, there is some strong value.

Let’s start with Tavares. He’s been active in the offensive zone, sitting second on the Leafs with 21 points.

But this pick is focused on shots, and he’s been taking lots of those.

  • Tavares is second on the Leafs with 47 shots, behind Auston Matthews, of course.
  • But Matthews gets a 3.5-shot projection (priced at -150 to the over). Tavares, meanwhile, is 9-1 against a 2.5-shot total over his last 10 games.

-> Bet on Leafs vs. Bruins at NorthStar Bets

This is also a good matchup. Boston allows the ninth-most shots per game (29.9).

As a team, the Leafs had 33 shots on goal on Saturday night. Tuesday’s game should be just as energetic with tons of chances on both sides.

Key stat: Tavares had four shots vs. Boston on Saturday.

Best NHL prop picks

Geekie to score 1+ points (-163): The Leafs’ defence is an auto-fade this point, and Geekie is on a great run.

The first-line winger has 11 points in the last 10 games and is 9-1 against this wager during that time.

He plays with one of the best players in the NHL, David Pastrnak, which certainly helps.

Geekie had a goal and an assist on Saturday against Toronto.

-> Wager on Geekie vs. the Maple Leafs at NorthStar Bets

The Leafs are now allowing the second-most goals per game (3.75) on the fifth-most shots (30.8).

It isn’t bad luck that’s holding Toronto back — it’s simply poor defensive play.

And Geekie is a big winger who’s always in dangerous areas. He’s tied for fourth in the NHL with 11 goals.

NHL anytime goal picks Nov. 10: Back Leon Draisaitl to light the lamp on Monday

NHL goal picks Nov. 10

Two superstars contribute to my NHL goal picks for Monday.

The pregame narrative: Leon Draisaitl is off to another excellent start, and tonight he gets a nice matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Before that, take the value on Jack Hughes to score against the New York Islanders.

Check out my NHL goal picks for Nov. 10.

NHL goal picks Nov. 10

Best Bet: Draisaitl to score (+100)

With 10 goals in 15 games, Draisaitl is in a position to be a Rocket Richard contender once again.

He’s been very consistent, with just one multigoal game, making him 9-6 against this wager.

And I cannot be more bullish on the matchup. Look where Columbus ranks in key defensive stats.

  • 32nd in shots against/game (32.8)
  • 28th in penalty kill (70.7%)
  • 21st in GAA (3.21)

-> Bet on Draisaitl and the Oilers tonight!

Draisaitl has a whopping 24.4% shooting rate, which might seem unsustainable, but he finished last season with 52 goals and a 21.7% shooting rate.

He’s a pure sniper in a league of his own.

So he should take advantage of a Blue Jackets defence that allows a boatload of shots to pair with a poor penalty kill.

Key stat: Columbus has allowed 12 goals over the past three games.

NHL predictions

Hughes to score (+115): Hughes doesn’t have the same reputation as Draisaitl, but he’s growing into an elite goalscorer.

He leads the New Jersey Devils in goals (10) and shots (55) and plays the most minutes of any forward.

That makes Hughes a top candidate to score against a below-average Islanders defence.

-> Join NorthStar Bets to bet on Hughes now

  • New York ranks in the bottom half for goals against (3.3) and shots allowed (28.7).
  • The team also ranks 10th in penalty minutes per game, with a below-average 78.7% penalty kill.

All of that works in favour of Hughes, who has five power-play points already this season.

It’s difficult to predict when someone will score in the NHL, but this is a great opportunity for Hughes to add another goal.

Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs prop predictions Nov. 9: Bet on Morgan Rielly, Seth Jarvis to produce

Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs predictions

The Toronto Maple Leafs welcome the Carolina Hurricanes for the second half of a back-to-back.

The pregame narrative: The Leafs lost 5-3 to the Boston Bruins on Saturday and now run it back at Scotiabank Arena with the Hurricanes on Sunday. These two teams combined for 23 goals in three meetings last season, so I’m expecting a lot of offence in this one.

Check out my Maple Leafs predictions vs. the Hurricanes for the game on Nov. 9, featuring picks for Morgan Rielly and Seth Jarvis.

-> Join NorthStar Bets to start betting on the Maple Leafs

Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs predictions

Best Bet: Rielly to score 1+ points (+133)

There is too much value to pass on with this pick.

Rielly has been one of the top scoring blueliners in the league, tallying 12 points in 14 games played.

With that considered, I was surprised to see Rielly priced at plus-money to record a point on Sunday.

-> Bet on Rielly to get on the score sheet tonight!

Not only has he been productive, but he’s also white-hot right now. The Leafs’ defenceman is on a four-game point streak (six assists).

Much like Toronto, the Hurricanes also played last night. That means they’ll turn to Frederik Anderson (.892%), who’s been the worst of the two goalies for Carolina.

Finally, Rielly seems to perform well against the Hurricanes.

Key stat: In his last game vs. the Hurricanes in April 2024, Rielly had three assists. He has 11 points in his last 12 games against Carolina overall.

Embed: #120793

Best NHL prop picks

Jarvis anytime goal scorer (+140): I also wanted to find a way to fade Toronto’s defence, and this looks like a strong choice.

  • Jarvis leads the Hurricanes in goals (nine), expected goals (9.9) and shots (47).
  • The Leafs allow the third-most goals against per game (3.7).

On top of that, Dennis Hildeby will make his first start in goal for Toronto after entering the game in relief for Anthony Stolarz on Saturday.

Hildeby is a promising young goalie, but has made just six NHL starts with a career .886 SV%.

-> Wager on Jarvis vs. the Maple Leafs at NorthStar Bets

He could be in for a tough night against one of the league’s premium offences.

And that has me bullish on Jarvis as a goal scorer in this matchup.

NHL anytime goal picks Nov. 8: Bet on Pastrnak, Nylander and Reinhart to strike

NHL goal picks Nov. 8

Three of the league’s best goal scorers headline my NHL anytime goal picks for today.

The pregame narrative: Sam Reinhart is one of the game’s premier talents, and he’s an excellent pick to strike in a plus matchup. William Nylander and David Pastrnak go head-to-head on Saturday night, and both profile as excellent picks to score.

Check out my NHL goal picks for Nov. 8.

NHL goal picks Nov. 8

Best Bet: Reinhart to score (+135)

Reinhart is doing all he can to carry the shorthanded Florida Panthers through the early months of the season.

The absences of Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov are impossible to ignore. The two forwards have been instrumental to the team’s recent success.

But Reinhart has done an admirable job of putting the team on his shoulders, especially in recent outings.

Reinhart has five goals in his last six games, going scoreless in just one game during this stretch.

-> Bet on Reinhart and the Panthers tonight!

It’s wise to bet on this impressive run continuing Saturday as the Panthers battle the defensively inept San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks are allowing the third-most goals per game (3.60).

Their poor ranking is no fluke, either, as they’re surrendering the second-most expected goals per 60 (3.82).

Bet on Reinhart leading the Panthers to a strong offensive showing.

Key stat: San Jose allows the second-most shots per game (31.6).

NHL predictions

Nylander to score (+125): The Toronto Maple Leafs’ top players are heating up, and tonight’s a good time to back Nylander.

The Maple Leafs forward has four goals and seven points in his last four games.

While Nylander has been producing all season long, the uptick in goals is recent. Nylander had just two goals in his first seven contests.

-> Join NorthStar Bets to bet on Nylander now

The matchup is right against the Boston Bruins, too, as Boston is struggling to keep the puck out of its net.

  • The Bruins are allowing the ninth-most goals per game (3.31).
  • Boston is surrendering the seventh-most goals per 60 (3.5).

I expect Nylander to keep rolling against the Bruins.

Pastrnak to score (+125): Pastrnak’s production is down, but I’m keen on his chances of scoring.

The Bruins winger is goalless in his last three games, but it’s not for a lack of trying. He has 17 shot attempts in his last three games.

His opponent, Toronto, has been a great matchup for goal scorers this year.

The Maple Leafs are allowing the fourth-most goals per game (3.57) and have the fourth-worst save percentage in the league (.877).

I expect Pastrnak to take advantage of weak goaltending.

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs prop predictions Nov. 8: Bet Matthews to shine with plus-money pick

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions

A classic rivalry is renewed on Saturday night as the Boston Bruins battle the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The pregame narrative: Boston and Toronto enter this game with better-than-average offences and below-average defence and goaltending. With plenty of stars on both sides of the ice, I expect a higher-scoring game and a strong individual effort.

Check out my Maple Leafs predictions vs. the Bruins for the game on Nov. 8, featuring a pick for Auston Matthews.

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions

Best Bet: Matthews to score 2+ points (+162)

Matthews is heating up, and I’m looking to tail him.

The Maple Leafs captain has been very involved offensively, totalling 22 shots in his last five outings.

His increased shot volume has led to a rise in production. Matthews has a goal in each of his last three games, totalling four points during this stretch.

Plus-minus has its limitations, but Matthews’ plus-seven rating across his last three games shows that the Maple Leafs are generating plenty of offence when he’s on the ice.

Best Bet: Pastrnak to score 2+ points (+170)

Pastrnak has been quiet ahead of this contest, but there are plenty of reasons to believe he’ll break out of his slump.

The Bruins forward is pointless in two of his last three games, but his season-long numbers are still fantastic. He has 18 points across 16 outings while averaging more than a point per game as a visitor (seven points in six contests).

Additionally, the matchup is right for Pastrnak to dominate offensively. Toronto is getting some of the worst goaltending in the league.

-> Bet on Pastrnak to score 2+ points tonight!

The Maple Leafs are allowing the fourth-most goals per game (3.57) and have the fourth-worst team save percentage in the league (.868).

Toronto’s numbers aren’t skewed by a few bad games, either. The team has allowed three-plus goals in 11 of its 14 games this season.

I’m happy to bet on a consistent producer to find the score sheet against a team that consistently struggles to keep the puck out of its net.

Key stat: Pastrnak has six multi-point games this season.
