Canada vs. Finland 4 Nations Face-Off prop picks: Bet on Marchand, Crosby to score

Canada vs. Finland props

Canada and Finland meet up on Monday for what will likely lead to a spot in the 4 Nations Face-Off final.

The pregame narrative: The moment is big for both nations and I’m anticipating a pair of veterans to come through for Canada. Brad Marchand and Sidney Crosby have plenty of experience in pivotal moments, and I expect both to deliver against Finland.

Check out the latest Canada vs. Finland 4 Nations Face-Off props for Feb. 17.

Canada vs. Finland props

Best Bet: Marchand anytime goal (+290)

Embed: #109584

The margins are slim in a tournament like this.

There were several takeaways from Canada’s 3-1 loss to the USA. One of them is that Marchand should be seeing more ice time.

The Boston Bruins captain totalled a minuscule 8:23 of game action in Saturday’s loss but still found a way to be one of Canada’s most impactful forwards. Marchand was able to skate through Team USA’s defensive front on several occasions and create chances for the Canadians.

I expect Marchand’s role on the team to increase significantly with the team needing results immediately.

Luckily for head coach Jon Cooper, Marchand already has chemistry with a pair of Canada’s top-six forwards.

Marchand trains with Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon in the offseason, making him a natural choice to slide onto their line.

The alternate captain already has a goal in this tournament despite playing fewer than 20 minutes in total. Even a slight increase in opportunity will provide value on this number.

Key stat: Only Connor McDavid, Mark Stone and Sam Bennett had more shots than Marchand (two) against Team USA.

Quick picks

Crosby to score (+200): Crosby is serving as a playmaker for the Canadians but his opportunities remain appealing when scoping out players in this market.

The captain is playing on the team’s first line and top power-play unit. Seeing the ice with MacKinnon and McDavid, among other top players, usually has Crosby spending most of his shift in the offensive zone.

Crosby also has a reputation for scoring monumental goals on the international stage. Keep an eye on the veteran superstar with Canada needing a win to advance to the final.

Odds to win NHL Hart Trophy: Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck rising up the board

NHL Hart Trophy odds

An Edmonton Oilers superstar leads the Hart Trophy race … but it’s not Connor McDavid.

The latest: Leon Draisaitl has usurped running mate McDavid as the favourite to win this award. McDavid isn’t even the top Connor on the board as Connor Hellebuyck holds down the third-shortest odds. Hot on Draisaitl’s tail, however, is the always-dangerous Nathan MacKinnon.

Best odds to win NHL Hart Trophy

It’s fair to say the Oilers have two frontmen.

Not many teams boast two players that have won the Hart Trophy even once. But now Edmonton has a chance become the only active team with two players who own multiple Hart Trophies.

Draisaitl, who won this award during the 2019-20 campaign, is emerging as the top contender to claim the honour again in 2024-25.

Outproducing McDavid is a good way to establish yourself as a legitimate candidate. Draisaitl leads the Oilers in points (83 versus McDavid’s 71) this season.

He’s been on an absolute tear since the calendar flipped to 2025, too, with 13 goals and 27 points in 18 games.

Top Hart Trophy contenders

It’s not often a goalie works his way into the mix, but Hellebuyck’s play is too good to ignore.

The Winnipeg Jets puckstopper owns the third-best odds and rightfully so. Hellebuyck ranks:

  • 1st in games (43)
  • 1st in wins (34)
  • 1st in SV% (.925)
  • 1st in GAA (2.06)
  • 1st in shutouts (6)

He leads every single important goaltending statistic.

Goaltenders winning the Hart Trophy isn’t something that happens often. Carey Price (2015) was the last one to do it.

Complete NHL Hart Trophy betting market

MacKinnon: On a team full of high-calibre talent, MacKinnon (+285) has been the Colorado Avalanche’s best player.

He leads the league in assists (66) and points (87) through 57 games.

The only surprise so far is a lack of goals after he potted 51 last year.

The Avalanche are firmly in the Western Conference’s playoff picture, holding onto a wild-card spot while trying to chase down divisional rivals.

Go to full NHL futures markets

NHL Hart Trophy notes

  • Even with the departure of Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov (+1,500) continues to be one of the most dominant offensive forces in the NHL. Last year’s Art Ross Trophy recipient has 82 points through 52 games.
  • Don’t get it twisted: McDavid (+650) is still very live to win this award. The Oilers superstar is only 16 points off the league lead in points despite missing six games, and he’s capable of going on a heater at any time. The biggest worry is that McDavid and Draisaitl cancel each other out in the MVP race.
  • Vancouver is back in a playoff spot and Quinn Hughes (+1,000) is a big reason why. The blueliner leads his team in points (59) and ice time per game (25:18). He’s the driving force on a team that has a lot of underperforming players this season.

Canada vs. USA 4 Nations anytime goal picks Feb. 15: Bet on Reinhart to light the lamp at +185

Canada vs. USA anytime goal picks

Hockey fans across North America will be tuning in for Saturday’s battle between Canada and the United States of America.

The pregame narrative: Tensions are high between the neighbouring countries, which only adds another layer to this classic hockey rivalry. I’m picking three players — Sam Reinhart, Jack Eichel and Mark Stone — to score in a game with no shortage of star power.

Check out my Canada vs. USA anytime goal picks for Feb. 15.

Best Bet: Reinhart to score (+185)

Opportunity is the name of the game when scoping out goalscorers, and Reinhart is seeing some favourable deployment.

The Florida Panthers superstar is skating on Canada’s first line and top power-play unit, putting him in some offensively friendly situations.

The calibre of players he’s skating alongside can’t be ignored, either. Reinhart plays with Connor McDavid and Mitch Marner at even strength. On the power play, he shares the ice with McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Sidney Crosby and Cale Makar.

It’s hard to find a better collection of players on any roster in this tournament.

Reinhart didn’t register a point in Canada’s thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over Sweden, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. He totalled three shots in the game.

The winger is a consistent shooter, ranking 43rd in the NHL in shots this season (149). Expect Reinhart to be a scoring threat all game long.

Key stat: Reinhart is tied for third in the NHL in goals (31).

Other picks

Eichel to score a goal (+240): This is a good price for Eichel to tickle twine.

The Vegas Golden Knights centre is thriving as a playmaker, as his 50 assists are the fourth-most in the NHL. Eichel is coming off the second 30-goal campaign of his career, however, and is more than capable of being a goalscorer.

It’s hard not to like the opportunities he’s receiving on Team USA. Eichel is skating on the first line, between Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, and on the top power-play unit alongside Matthew Tkachuk, Jake Guentzel, Auston Matthews and Zach Werenski.

Eichel was heating up as a goalscorer before this tournament, tallying seven goals in eight games.

Go to Canada vs. USA hockey betting markets

Stone to score a goal (+310): Stone only has 14 goals for Vegas this season, but he delivered for Canada against Sweden.

The Golden Knights captain scored in the team’s 4-3 victory. The reason why I’m coming back to him is his spot in Canada’s lineup.

Stone is skating on a stacked second line alongside Crosby and MacKinnon, two of the NHL’s absolute best forwards.

Crosby demonstrated against Sweden that he’s more than capable of dishing it to his linemates. He registered three assists in the contest, including a feed on the game-winner.

Look for Stone to cash in with his star-studded support crew.

Canada vs. USA 4 Nations Face-Off prop picks: Bet on Marner and Tkachuk to find the score sheet

Canada vs. USA props

The matchup fans have been waiting for goes down on Saturday night as the Canada vs. USA rivalry is reborn on the biggest stage.

The latest: This game will be an exhilarating showcase of hockey talent. I’m not sure who’s going to win, but I’ll back a forward from each side to find the score sheet.

Check out the latest Canada vs. USA 4 Nations Face-Off props for Feb. 15.

Canada vs. USA props

Best Bet: Marner anytime goalscorer (+290)

Embed: #109528

Marner was the overtime hero in the game against Sweden as he was set up by Sidney Crosby entering the zone and the rest was history.

https://twitter.com/NHL/status/1889890443694866881

He was on the ice a ton, trailing only Connor McDavid in ice time amongst Canadian forwards.

Marner plays on the first line with McDavid and sees ice with Crosby so the potential is sky-high.

McDavid had just one assist on Wednesday, however, a breakout game offensively would surely involve lots of Marner.

It appears Canada will rely on Marners’ crafty skillset much like the Toronto Maple Leafs do on a nightly basis.

Key stat: Marner is tied for fourth in the NHL with 71 points this season.

Quick picks

Matthew Tkachuk anytime goalscorer (+295): Out of all the talent in USA’s offence, it was the Tkachuk brothers that made the biggest mark on the first game.

Brady and Matthew combined for four goals (two each) and 13 of the Americans’ 32 shots.

In my USA vs. Finland prop picks, I backed Matthew over Brady because of his involvement on the power play and I’ll do so again even though there appears to be no wrong choice.

Matthew scored both of the Americans’ PP goals and plays with the first unit which consists of names like Jack Eichel and Auston Matthews.

The Florida Panther paced all of his teammates though, recording a whopping eight shots.

It feels like his (and his brother’s) physicality is exactly what is needed alongside these talented forwards and Matthew should continue to benefit from loads of opportunity.

Finland vs. Sweden 4 Nations Face-Off prop picks: Bet on teammates Nylander and Kempe to score

Finland vs. Sweden props

Finland and Sweden battle to get in the win column at the 4 Nations Face-Off and I have picks and William Nylander and Adrian Kempe.

The latest: Finland is coming off a 6-1 loss while Sweden pushed Canada to overtime and ultimately lost 4-3. I’m more inspired by the Swedes’ effort so I’ll take a shot on two of its players to score.

Finland vs. Sweden props

Best Bet: Nylander anytime goalscorer (+180)

Embed: #109515

It wasn’t a great game for Nylander against Canada. He was held off the score sheet with two shots on goal and was a -1.

The good news is that he led all Swedish forwards with 20:30 of ice time.

Canada, USA and Sweden all fall into an elite tier, in my opinion, while Finland falls short. The Finns kept it close but in the end, couldn’t hang with the Americans, allowing four goals in the third period.

They gave up four power plays to USA, too, and paid for it by allowing goals on two of them.

Nylander plays a ton, is on the first power-play unit and has the softest matchup of the tournament.

Key stat: The Toronto Maple Leafs’ winger ranks second in the NHL this season with 33 goals.

Quick picks

Kempe anytime goalscorer (+200): On most nights, Kempe will take more shots than his teammates which is a great floor for a goalscorer prop.

He is the second-ranked Swedish player for shots per game (3.1) in the NHL, ranking only behind Filip Forsberg (3.6).

In the game against Canada, he led Sweden with five shots which is quite high considering his team only had 26.

He managed to score, too, which is always encouraging.

If the Swedes can pour it on Finland like the Americans did (six goals on 32 shots), then there’s a good chance Kempe finds himself in strong scoring positions.

Canada vs. USA 4 Nations SGP predictions Feb. 15: Back the Canadians and McDavid on Saturday

Canada vs. USA predictions

Canada and USA meet at the Bell Centre in Montreal for an epic 4 Nations Face-Off showdown on Saturday.

The pregame narrative: It’s been ages since we’ve seen these squads play in a best-on-best format so you won’t want to miss this. Both countries won their opening games and I expect Canada to keep this one close, at worst. Bet on Connor McDavid to score and an alternate under as well.

Check out my Canada vs. USA same-game parlay predictions for Feb. 15.

Canada vs. USA predictions

Parlay: Canada +1.5 | McDavid to score | Under 7.5 goals (+375)

Embed: #109505

Canada +1.5 (-278): Canadian hockey fans got a little bit of everything in its opener against Sweden.

The Canucks lept out to an early lead with a Nathan MacKinnon power-play goal assisted by Sidney Crosby and McDavid and kept pressing through the first period.

They took a 2-0 lead into the break and held Sweden to just three shots.

But the Swedes gave some pushback and Canada ultimately won 4-3 in overtime thanks to Mitch Marner. We saw how good Canada could be in the opening frame and I expect more of that and less of the rest against the USA.

https://twitter.com/TeamCanada/status/1889899255458045974

Canada has won 26 straight games with Crosby in the lineup so I can’t picture them losing by margin against the Americans.

The U.S. handed Finland a 6-1 beatdown on Thursday but that game was also close heading into the dying minutes of the second period.

Finland’s defensive corps is easily the worst in the tournament, though, and the Canadians should keep things much tighter while edging out the puck possession battle with McDavid, MacKinnon and Brayden Point down the middle of the ice.

Canada has a 14-4-1 all-time record against the U.S. but most of these players weren’t involved in those matchups. Still, I’ll give the edge to the Canadians on home ice.

SGP legs

McDavid to score (+175): McDavid had just one assist in Canada’s opener and I think it’s time for the world’s best player to arrive in style.

The Edmonton Oilers superstar led all Canadian forwards in ice time and is playing alongside Marner and Sam Reinhart.

He was also double-shifted with Crosby and MacKinnon at points.

And most importantly, he’s on an absolutely lethal power-play. The Americans took three penalties against Finland and I expect there to be more PP opportunities in what should be a physical game.

McDavid has 118 goals over the last three NHL seasons.

Under 7.5 goals (-335): Adding this alternate under boosts our SGP from +230 to +375, which seems pretty nice to me.

Both Canada and USA went under this total in their openers, landing on exactly seven goals in a pair of high-event games.

Connor Hellebuyck (2.07 GAA, .925 SV%) has been the best goaltender in the league this season and is getting Hart Trophy attention. He was solid after letting in a cheap one on Friday.

It seems Jordan Binnington will get the crease for Canada and, while his numbers aren’t on Hellebuyck’s level, the Stanley Cup winner made some timely overtime saves and I expect his confidence to grow as the tournament goes on.

The U.S. was physical in its debut against Finland and I expect a tight-checking game rather than an open-ice track meet.

Sweden vs. Canada 4 Nations Face-Off prop picks: Back Reinhart and Nylander to get on the score sheet

Sweden vs. Canada props

I’ve got two goalscorer props to share for Wednesday’s opening game between Sweden and Canada.

The latest: The 4 Nations Face-Off will pin four of the sport’s top nations together in a tournament that has hockey fans excited. In the first game, I’m backing Sam Reinhart to score for Canada and William Nylander to score for Sweden. I’m taking Filip Forsberg to score a point, too.

Check out the latest Sweden vs. Canada 4 Nations Face-Off props for Feb. 12.

Sweden vs. Canada props

Best Bet: Reinhart anytime goalscorer (+160)

Embed: #109277

According to Daily Faceoff, Reinhart will play wing on the first line with Connor McDavid and Mitch Marner while joining the first power-play unit.

That first line is extremely good but how about the PP that includes McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Nathan McKinnon and Cale Makar?

Reinhart may seem like the name that doesn’t fit but he serves a purpose with the man advantage. He leads all Canadians with 31 goals in the NHL and nine of those came on the PP.

He’ll play with some of hockey’s best passers on both his regular line and power play and he has a strong chance to lead the tournament in goals.

Key stat: Since the start of last season, Reinhart ranks second in the NHL with 88 goals scored during that time, sitting one back of Auston Matthews (89).

Quick picks

Nylander anytime goalscorer (+235): Nylander will have a large role in the Swedes’ offence.

He’ll play on the second line and seemingly quarterback the first PP unit as he’s slotted to play on the blueline with Victor Hedman.

The Leafs’ star is currently second in the NHL with 33 goals in 55 games. He’s picking up the slack left behind by Matthews who’s missed a chunk of the season.

If anything, that shows us how productive Nylander can be when given more opportunity. John Tavares was also out for some time with an injury.

He won’t have Marner to pass him the puck but linemate Mika Zibanejad had 50-plus assists in two of the last three seasons.

Zibanejad is falling short of that pace this season (26 assists in 55 games) but he’s on a tear for the New York Rangers right now.

He has six assists in his last five games while Nylander’s potted nine goals in his last 10 games. This could be a match made in heaven on the second line for Sweden.

Forsberg to score 1+ points (+102): This pick is based on pure talent.

Forsberg has 53 points in 52 NHL games this season and he’s been on a heater.

Since Jan. 14, he has 34 points in 24 games and is coming off a 94-point season.

With Canada starting Jordan Binnington in goal (.897 SV%, 2.89 GAA), I expect the Swedes to score a couple of goals.

4 Nations Face-Off picks made at 1:09 p.m. ET on 02/11/2025.

Finland vs. USA 4 Nations Face-Off prop picks: Matthews and Tkachuk in prime spot to score

Finland vs. USA props

I’m backing two Americans to score in the USA’s opening game against Finland.

The latest: Team USA has a stacked offence paired with a strong defence and elite goaltending. I predict a big win for the U.S. and I’m taking both Auston Matthews and Matthew Tkachuk to pot goals.

Check out the latest Finland vs. USA 4 Nations Face-Off props for Feb. 13.

Finland vs. USA props

Best Bet: Matthews anytime goalscorer (+123)

Embed: #109368

Matthews isn’t on the same historic scoring pace he was last season, but he’s still an elite goalscorer.

He has 20 goals in 40 games which over 82 games would be a 41-goal pace. That seems low for Matthews but most players could only dream of scoring 40 in a season.

And I think this is the best matchup at the tournament. Finland has a good offence but with the recent injury to Miro Heiskenen, the defence is a step behind.

While other nations roster elite blueliners, Finland’s unit will be led by Esa Lindell and Niko Mikkola.

They are good defensive defencemen, but there’s some skill missing on the backend.

Matthews will centre the second line and play on a power play that includes the likes of Jack Hughes, Jack Eichel and Adam Fox, some of hockey’s best passers.

Key stat: Since the start of last season, Matthews ranks first in the NHL with 89 goals.

Quick pick

Tkachuk anytime goalscorer (+245): The fifth and final piece of that PP unit is Tkachuk.

He’s sure to play the role of a net-front presence and with those pieces I mentioned before, the big-bodied forward could be in line for an easy tap-in or rebound opportunity on Wednesday.

Tkachuk’ll play on the first line, as well, with Eichel and Kyle Connor. Both of whom are tied for sixth in the NHL with 69 points this season.

There isn’t much to go off with these best-on-best international tournaments happening so irregularly so I’m tending to go off what the lines are.

And Tkachuk plays in a prime spot to do some damage and he has some fantastic value on his goalscorer prop.

4 Nations Face-Off picks made at 1:09 p.m. ET on 02/11/2025.
