European soccer is back in full swing with the EPL, La Liga and Serie A all in action this weekend.

The pre-weekend narrative: Tottenham looks like a serious contender to make noise at the top of the Premier League table. The undefeated Hotspur host Bournemouth on Saturday. On Sunday, Inter Milan looks to build on a dominant start while taking on Udinese.

Soccer predictions

Tottenham vs. Bournemouth (Aug. 30, 10 a.m. ET)

Best bet: Tottenham to win (-134)

The Hotspur have been thriving so far under new manager Thomas Frank. Fans have boasted about the new tactics and rightfully so. Tottenham is 2-0 with two clean sheets.

One of the wins was over Manchester City, 2-0, and the side sits at a +5 goal differential It’s a very impressive start that I don’t see slowing down at home against Bournemouth.

The away side has a 1-1 record with the win coming against 0-2 Wolverhampton. Even then, Bournemouth scraped by with a one-goal win despite the Wolves going down to 10 men early in the second half.

The club’s also seen the lowest of lows. On Matchday 1, the Cherries were blown out at home, 4-0, by Man City.

This feels like a battle between teams on different tiers. Tottenham should control this match at home.

Key stat: Through two matches, the Hotspur have the highest average match rating in the EPL, per Fotmob (7.35).

La Liga best bet

Matchup: Real Madrid vs. Mallorca (Aug. 30, 3:30 p.m. ET)

Read Madrid over 2.5 goals (-112): Bernabeu Stadium will be rocking this weekend with Los Blancos returning home after a 3-0 road win.

Madrid has yet to concede this season, but I want to tap into that offensive potential we saw on Matchday 2.

The side had 26 shot attempts (10 on target) against Oviedo. Kylian Mbappe led the way, scoring a brace.

Mallorca played a top-tier opponent in Barcelona already this season and got stifled 3-0. It had the benefit of playing at home for that game, which won’t be the case on Saturday.

Despite scoring four goals through two matches, Madrid has actually left production on the table, missing three big chances (tied for third most in La Liga).

Serie A prediction

Matchup: Inter Milan vs. Udinese (Aug. 31, 2:45 p.m. ET)

Inter Milan halftime/fulltime (-112): Milan looked dominant in its Serie A debut, battering Torino 5-0 last Sunday.

Just take a look at its offensive stats from the match:

• Six big chances.
• Nine shots on target.
• Led Serie A with nine takeaways in the opposing third.

Inter may now have an elite offence to match its stonewall defence.

Udinese tied its first match at home against Verona, a team that finished six points above a relegation spot last season.

Because of that, I expect Nerazzurri to be the better side, grab an early lead, and never look back.

Soccer predictions made at 1:30 p.m. on 08/27/25.

Inter Milan makes its Serie A season debut against Torino on Monday.

The pregame narrative: Inter Milan had a very successful campaign across all competitions in 2024-25, but looks to reclaim the Serie A title after finishing second in Italy. The side will host Torino as a sizeable favourite.

Parlay: Inter Milan to win | Both teams to score – no | Martinez to score (+290)

Inter Milan to win (-225): Inter was one of the best teams in Europe last season. It finished as the runner-up in the Champions League and second in Serie A.

Despite finishing one point behind Napoli for the title, it was Inter with the best goal differential in the league (+44).

I don’t feel crazy saying Inter is the best team in Italy, and the club has a nice matchup to open the season.

Torino finished in the bottom half of Serie A last season. The side had a -6 goal differential and had fewer than half the goals that Inter had (39 for Torino, 79 for Inter).

Additionally, the club finished last season losing four of its last five matches and drawing the other.

One of the losses was to Inter, 2-0.

Inter vs. Torino betting markets

Serie A SGP legs

Both teams to score – no (-121): I truly believe Torino will have a tough time scoring.

• As mentioned, the club had just 39 goals for in 38 matches played last season.

• During that five-match winless streak at the end, Torino scored just one goal.

• It finished with the third-fewest xG among teams that weren’t relegated (35.2).

The side brought in just three players worth more than $1 million in the transfer window, and none were notable enough to make me think this year will be much different.

And that means Inter has every reason to dominate this match from start to finish.

Martinez to score (+110): Out of all the candidates to bag a goal in Inter’s opening match, I like Martinez’s chances the best.

• The Argentine attacker was a crucial part of Inter’s UCL run, scoring eight goals in 10 starts.

• He only scored 14 times in Serie A but finished fourth in Italy with 13.5 xG.

• For reference, teammate Marcus Thuram had more goals (14) but only 10.1 xG.

If anything, Martinez had an unlucky season, and he should be expected to get back to scoring 20+ goals like he did for Inter in the three seasons prior.

Inter Milan vs. Torino predictions made at 2:18 p.m. ET on 08/16/2025.

I’ve got picks on two attackers for this weekend’s EPL action.

The pregame narrative: Hugo Ekitike has been making waves as Liverpool’s new target man up top. Look for him to continue contributing against Newcastle United on Monday. Before that, target Bryan Mbeumo for Manchester United against Fulham.

EPL prop picks

Best bet: Ekitike over 2.5 shots (-123)

The Reds’ newest number nine is exactly what the club needed on attack.

In the Community Shield match against Crystal Palace, Ekitike scored his first goal for his new team and recorded three shots.

He followed that up by scoring a goal in his EPL debut and taking four total shots in 70 minutes of action.

His 3.94 shots per 90 ranks in the 94th percentile for attackers, per Football Reference.

In the Bundesliga last season, he went 23-10 against this wager despite only playing the full 90 minutes eight times.

At 23 years old, the French striker is improving quickly, and he’s off to a fantastic start for Liverpool.

The Reds scored four goals on Matchday 1 and should easily be one of the best offensive sides again this season.

Ekitike doesn’t need to be on the pitch a ton to top this mark. He’s yet to play more than 72 minutes in a game for Liverpool, yet he’s 2-0 on this over.

Key stat: Ekitike ranks in the 93rd percentile for shot-creating actions (3.53 per 90).

EPL betting markets

Best Matchday 2 picks

Mbeumo over 2.5 shots (-112): Out of all the new transfers Manchester United brought in, it was Mbeumo who showed the most promise.

The winger was creative on attack, attempting five shots in his debut on Matchday 1. He played all 90 minutes and looks to be a crucial part of the Red Devils’ plans moving forward.

Last year, he played more of an attacking midfielder role for Brentford and scored 20 goals, tied for fourth-most in the EPL.

Manchester United doesn’t need a midfielder, though, as they already have Bruno Fernandes, one of the best centre attacking midfielders in world football.

So more of a forward approach should be expected from Mbeumo this season, and we saw the results of that last weekend in a very difficult matchup vs. Arsenal.

Man U lost 1-0 to Arsenal but thoroughly outplayed the London club. The Red Devils attempted 22 shots, more than any other team during the opening matches.

Fulham doesn’t have the quality that Arsenal possesses, and was just outshot 10-6 by Brighton in its first game.

Expect another offensive-loaded performance from Manchester United, led by its new $71 million man.
