Best bet

Canada halftime/fulltime (-138): Canada was well prepared for this year’s Gold Cup.

Les Rouges played two exhibition matches in the Canadian Shield earlier in June. They beat Ukraine, 4-2, and lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.

Canada was particularly strong against Ukraine, starting its best available 11 and going up 3-0 before half.

Both of those nations (No. 21 and No. 41) are significantly better than any team in Canada’s group for this tournament, all of which sit at No. 75 or lower in the FIFA rankings.

Honduras, which Canada just battered 6-0, is the highest ranked of the bunch.

Curacao is the lowest-ranked nation in the group (No. 91), so I certainly don’t expect a step up in competition for the second game.

For this wager to cash, Canada needs to be leading at halftime and at the final whistle.

The side scored two first-half goals against Honduras before adding four more by the end of the match.

If Les Rouges can replicate that early success vs. Curacao, holding out a lead should be no problem against an inferior opponent.

When these two nations last played in 2023, Canada went up 2-0 before half and held onto that score for the win.

Key stat: Canada has won seven matches in a row across all competitions when leading after 45 minutes

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks June 18: Back Vinicius Jr., Petar Ratkov in Matchday 1 finale

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks

The final games of Matchday 1 at the FIFA Club World Cup take place on Wednesday.

The latest: Xabi Alonso makes his managerial debut with Real Madrid against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, and he has no shortage of star power to choose from. After that, two evenly matched teams — one from Austria and one from Mexico — lock horns.

Check out the best FIFA Club World Cup prop picks for Wednesday’s group-stage matches featuring Vinicius Jr. and Petar Ratkov.

Bet on the FIFA Club World Cup now

Best Bet: Vinicius to score or assist (-127)

Alonso has some decisions to make in his starting XI with the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold and the potential departure of Rodrygo to Arsenal.

But two players are pretty much guaranteed to start up front: Vinicius and Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos are massive -335 favourites to win this fixture and are -385 to score over 1.5 goals. An offensive outburst is expected against Al Hilal, and that duo should be driving the bus.

Mbappe holds -250 odds to score or give an assist, which is too rich for my blood. Vincicus comes in at a much more palatable -127, though.

The Brazilian national was asked to play second fiddle this season but still had a monster campaign. He posted 19 goal contributions in 30 La Liga fixtures and 10 in 12 Champions League games.

Vinicius closed out the La Liga season with assists in consecutive games, including two against defensively stout Barcelona in a 4-3 losing effort.

Key stat: Vinicius ranks in the 91st percentile in non-penalty xG + xA per 90 (0.67), compared to positional peers in Men’s Big 5 Leagues, UCL, and UEL over the last year, per FBRef.

CF Pachuca vs. Red Bull Salzburg best bet

Ratkov over 0.5 shots on target (-125): A competition like this naturally lends itself to some lesser-known players getting shine. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve never heard of Ratkov before now.

The Red Bull Salzburg forward has established himself as a super sub in the later days of the season, scoring two goals with three assists in his last four games.

He’s registered a shot on target in four of his last six contests and has at least one shot attempt in all of those games.

The Austrian side is taking on Mexican side CF Pachura, which sits a pedestrian eighth in Liga MX.

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks June 17: Back Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries against C.F. Monterrey

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks

The FIFA Club World Cup continues on Tuesday with a three-pack of games.

The latest: Inter Milan, fresh off a Champions League final thrashing, is back at it against Mexican side C.F. Monterrey. Before that, German giants Borussia Dortmund are favoured to beat a lesser Brazilian team, Fluminense FC.

Check out the best FIFA Club World Cup prop picks for Tuesday’s group-stage matches featuring Denzel Dumfries and Serhou Guirassy.

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks

Bet on the FIFA Club World Cup now

Best bet: Dumfries over 0.5 shots on target (+148)

The last time we saw Inter take the pitch, they were decimated 5-0 in the UCL Final by Paris Saint-Germain.

That also marked Simone Inzaghi’s last game as manager, as the Italian moved on to coach the Saudi Arabian national team. Now, Cristian Chivu has taken over after a one-year stint with Parma.

Chivu will continue on with Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

That means Dumfries will continue to be slotted as the far right midfielder, where he wreaked havoc for most of the season.

The Dutch national scored seven goals in Serie A and added a crucial brace against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinal.

Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that the midfielders on the ends of the five-player group (i.e., Dumfries and Federico DiMarco) will be encouraged to get forward and attack the penalty area.

Dumfries has the ability to jump into play and make noise, and he should feast against a C.F. Monterrey side that sits a mediocre seventh in Liga MX.

Key stat: Dumfries averaged 0.87 shots on target per 90 in Serie A this year, according to FBRef.

Fluminense FC vs. Borussia Dortmund best bet

Serhou Guirassy to score (-122): Borussia Dortmund ended its season on a tear, going on a seven-game unbeaten run (6-0-1) with a 3-1 win over Barcelona and a 2-2 tie against Bayern Munich.

Guirassy was at the heart of it all, scoring nine goals and cashing this bet in his last six contests. That included a hat-trick against Barcelona and a brace against Wolfsburg.

The Guinean national led the club with 34 goals in 44 appearances across the Bundesliga and Champions League and is undoubtedly BVB’s top threat to score.

Fluminense sits sixth in the Brazilian Serie A and has conceded 12 goals through 11 games. That’s the worst mark of anyone sitting eighth or better in the table.

Guirassy ranks in the 89th percentile for non-penalty goals per 90 (0.64), compared to his positional peers in Men’s Big 5 Leagues, UCL, and UEL over the last year.

Canada vs. Honduras Gold Cup men’s soccer odds and best bet: Back Les Rouges to win comfortably

Canada vs. Honduras odds

The Canadian men’s national team starts its run at the Gold Cup against Honduras on Tuesday.

The pregame narrative: Canada won the inaugural Canadian Shield earlier in June and the nation looks to win its first Gold Cup since 2000. Les Rouges have the talent to make a run at this tournament and hold the third shortest odds (+600).

Best bet

Canada halftime/fulltime (+100): For those who may be unaware, Canada would need to be leading at halftime and after 90 minutes of play for this pick to cash.

And I think that is well within the range of possibilities for this squad.

The attack, consisting of Jonathan David and Promise David, looks even more threatening than when Cyle Larin was in the starting 11.

Promise, a 23-year-old who plays in the Belgian Pro League, turned heads this season. He scored 24 goals in 41 matches across all competitions.

In the Canadian Shield, Les Rouges used their best available 11 and went up 3-0 over Ukraine and half and held on for a 4-2 win.

Both attackers, Jonathan and Promise, scored in the first half.

For reference, Ukraine sits 25th in FIFA’s rankings, while Honduras is much further down at 75.

Canada is currently ranked No. 30 and continues to rise by outperforming the nation’s standard.

Key stat: When Canada and Honduras last met in March 2023, Les Rouges jumped out to a 2-0 lead before half and ended up winning 4-1.

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks June 16: Back Nicolas Jackson for Chelsea, Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks

The FIFA Club World Cup continues on Monday with six more teams in action.

The latest: Chelsea starts its tournament against Los Angeles FC in a match where the London club is heavily favoured. Later on, Benfica and Boca Juniors clash to close out the first round of Group C games.

Check out the best FIFA Club World Cup prop picks for Monday’s group-stage matches.

FIFA Club World Cup prop picks

Best bet: Nicolas Jackson anytime goal (+120)

Chelsea had a pretty good season, finishing fourth in the Premier League.

To open the FIFA CWC, the English side will take a step down in competition to face Los Angeles FC.

The fifth-place team in the MLS Western Conference has been lacklustre this season with seven wins, five losses and four draws.

That’s not the ideal form to be in when welcoming a top EPL side. I expect Chelsea to dominate, and a standard starting 11 should be deployed.

That means Jackson should be up front.

  • The 23-year-old started 28 games in the EPL this season and scored 10 goals.
  • In Chelsea’s last match on May 28 in the UEFA Conference League, Jackson scored a goal in a 4-1 win.

That result was over Real Betis, who by all accounts should’ve been a tougher opponent than Los Angeles FC will prove to be.

That’s due to the fact that Real Betis plays in La Liga in Spain, one of the top leagues in the world.

But from top to bottom, the Premier League remains the best, and this is another opportunity for Chelsea to prove that.

Key stat: LAFC is conceding 1.4 goals per match in the MLS through 16 games.

Boca Juniors vs. Benfica best bet

Vangelis Pavlidis to score or give an assist (+115): Benfica isn’t on the same level as Chelsea, but the Portuguese side is a staple in the Champions League.

Greek attacker Pavlidis leads the way and is the target man of every attack Benfica puts forward.

  • The 26-year-old scored 29 goals and added 12 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions this season.
  • That includes seven goals in 13 Champions League matches.

Benfica’s first opponent at the FIFA CWC, Boca Juniors, is a good squad for the Argentinian Primera Division (currently second place). But it is definitely far behind in terms of talent.

The Portuguese side is -132 to score over 1.5 goals, and I’d be a fool not to assume Pavlidis will be involved, especially if Benfica scores multiple times.

FIFA Club World Cup predictions June 15: Best bets for PSG vs. Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise

FIFA Club World Cup predictions

Eight clubs are in action for the first full matchday of the FIFA Club World Cup on June 15.

The latest: Bayern Munich and Auckland City FC will kick things off with the side from New Zealand sitting as a 14-to-1 underdog to defeat the European powerhouse. Later on, PSG and Atletico Madrid face off in a crucial match for early stakes in Group B.

Check out the best FIFA Club World Cup predictions for Sunday’s group-stage matches.

FIFA Club World Cup predictions

Best bet: PSG/Atletico Madrid over 2.5 goals (-130)

PSG is fresh off its first-ever Champions League trophy, and the side should continue rolling in the FIFA CWC.

  • Dating back to the first leg of the UCL quarterfinal vs. Aston Villa, 10 of PSG’s 12 matches have gone over this total.
  • PSG averaged 2.3 goals per match during that time.
  • The French side led the Champions League in xG (36.4) and was tied for second in scoring (2.2 goals/game), according to FotMob.

PSG is more than capable of covering this line by itself, but if it needs help, Atletico Madrid can provide offence of its own.

Atletico finished third in La Liga and has solidified itself as a third Spanish giant in European competitions.

In the Champions League, it was one of the clubs that tied with PSG with 2.2 goals scored per match.

Los Colchoneros can score and are even on upset watch to steal Group B from their counterpart. They’ve scored a goal in 21 of their last 25 matches.

Key stat: These two clubs met in November in the UCL league phase, and Atletico Madrid beat PSG, 2-1.

Bayern Munich vs. Auckland City best bet

Michael Olise to record an assist (+130): Auckland City is +14,000 to defeat Bayern on Sunday, and the over is set at a whopping 5.5 total goals.

Bayern Munich is expected to score plenty. So this pick is about finding value. For example, Harry Kane is -385 to score anytime.

That brings me to Olise, who is a great playmaker alongside Kane on the front line.

  • Olise is the starting winger for the German club. He uses his quickness and flair to create a lot of goals.
  • He scored 17 goals and added 18 assists in 50 games for Bayern across all competitions this season.

I was tempted by his -106 price tag to score, but I believe he carries a ton of value as a playmaker in this matchup.

Munich won’t need to hold possession and can push a high pace on Auckland’s inferior back line.

Olise should lead the charge out wide on any counter-attack, and I could see him finding Kane or another Bayern player in the box for an easy goal.

CONCACAF Gold Cup odds 2025: Canada is third on board behind USA, Mexico

Gold Cup odds

The Gold Cup begins this weekend, with three North American teams atop the odds board.

The latest: USA and Mexico are neck-and-neck as the favourites, with Canada not far behind. Les Rouges brought an exceptionally strong squad to this tournament, even in the absence of their captain, Alphonso Davies, who is out with a torn ACL.

Here are the latest CONCACAF Gold Cup odds for the 2025 soccer tournament.

Gold Cup odds as of 11:41 a.m. ET on 06/13/2025.

The favourites: USA (+175), Mexico (+187)

  • The USA is missing three top players. Captain Christian Pulisic opted to skip this tournament while Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah are unavailable as Juventus plays in the FIFA Club World Cup. Still, the Americans boast a deep squad under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
  • Mexico is fresh off winning the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League, beating both Canada and the USA last year. The Tricolour are bringing an experienced and talented group to this tournament, but they’re missing forward Hirving Lozano due to injury.

Canada’s odds

Canada (+550)

The Canadians are primed for a deep run.

Without Davies, Les Rouges hammered Ukraine 4-2 in the inaugural Canadian Shield — a four-team friendly tournament — picking up their first win over European competition since 2011.

Canada then lost in penalties to the reigning AFCON champions, Ivory Coast, after forcing a 0-0 draw in regulation.

With those two results, Jesse Marsch’s side boasts a 6-1-3 record in regulation since losing to Argentina in the 2024 Copa America semis.

The Canadians currently sit 30th in FIFA’s rankings, which is their highest spot ever.

There are no notable absences for Les Rouges outside of Davies, with names like Jonathan David, Cyle Larin, and Tajon Buchanan all slated to play.
