NBA play-in tournament schedule, odds and betting lines: Kings favoured to out Mavericks, Bulls face Heat in a pick’em

NBA schedule

The NBA regular season is over, and the first round of the playoffs is set to begin on the weekend. Before that happens, we’ve got play-in tournament action to attend to.

The latest: Four teams per conference are competing for the Nos. 7 and 8 seeds, including Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors against Ja Morant‘s Memphis Grizzlies. The winner of that game will be a 7-seed, while the loser will host a do-or-die game for the final playoff spot.

Betting insights

  • Orlando and Atlanta played twice in the final week of the regular season, and both teams got the win on their home court. The Magic cashed unders at the second-highest rate in the NBA (57.3%) this season, while the Hawks cashed overs at the second-highest rate (61.7%), per Team Rankings.
  • Golden State went 3-1 against Memphis this season, which includes a pair of wins at home. In their most recent head-to-head matchup on April 1, Curry dropped 52 points (12-of-20 from 3-point range) and finished two assists shy of a triple-double in a road win.
  • The Bulls are 3-0 SU against the Heat this season despite being the underdogs in each of those games. Chicago is only 18-23 at home, but an April push (6-1 overall this month) led to a home play-in game.
  • Sacramento has the worst ATS record of all the postseason teams (34-44-4). But the Kings are 3-0 SU and 2-0-1 ATS against the Mavericks this season. Dallas went just 1-6 ATS in its final seven games, losing SU three times in that span as a favourite.

Clippers vs. Warriors SGP predictions April 13: Back Kawhi Leonard, fade Steph Curry at +400

Clippers vs. Warriors predictions

The most important game in the NBA on the final day of the regular season is between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.

The pregame narrative: With a Game 7 vibe, I’m backing the defensively sound Clippers to cover an alternate spread on the road. This +400 SGP includes a pick on Kawhi Leonard and a fade on Steph Curry.

Check out my Clippers vs. Warriors SGP predictions for April 13.

Clippers vs. Warriors predictions

Parlay: Clippers +7.5 | Leonard over 23.5 points | Curry under 25.5 points (+400)

Embed: #112495

Clippers +7.5 (-210): L.A. is red-hot right now, winning nine of its past 10 games.

It’s also worth noting that the Clippers have covered this spread in 24 straight games.

The Warriors have also been great since they acquired Jimmy Butler, going 23-6 since the trade.

But the Clippers have the upper hand in this head-to-head matchup, having won all three meetings this season — despite Kawhi Leonard not playing in any of those games.

Their defence held the Warriors to an average of 98.3 points in those games.

Now insert both Kawhi and Butler into the conversation, and I think the Clippers should still have the advantage, especially against a lofty spread.

NBA SGP legs

Leonard over 23.5 points (-106): This is as important as it gets for a regular season game, and Toronto Raptors fans should be very knowledgable of how Leonard plays when the lights are the brightest.

Plus, he continues to lean into those robotic tendencies by returning from a lengthy injury recovery to play like he’s in his prime.

Leonard has played 30 or more minutes in 20 games now. Take a look at his averages in that scenario:

  • 23.5 points
  • 48.6 FG%
  • 39.1 3PT%

He’s hyper-efficient, so this leg will come down to volume. But Leonard should be the No. 1 option when the Clippers need a bucket today.

Curry under 25.5 points (-106): It feels wrong to fade Curry as a scorer, but there are two reasons for it.

  • Curry is listed as questionable after suffering a thumb sprain on Friday. He managed to return in that game but was held to 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting (2-of-8 from deep).
  • The Clippers are an elite defensive team, owning the third-best defensive rating (112.2).

I fully expect Curry to suit up for this must-win game, but I expect he’ll be limited once again by the lingering thumb issue.

Look for the superstar guard to tap into his playmaking roots while leaving the majority of the scoring to Golden State’s secondary options.

Best NBA prop bets April 13: Picks on Zach LaVine and Anthony Edwards

NBA prop bets

Only a few games have meaning on the final day of the NBA regular season. I’m targeting two starters from those matchups.

The pregame narrative: Anthony Edwards has the chance to avoid the play-in, so expect him to carry the offensive load for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Elsewhere, bet on Zach LaVine to shine.

Check out the best NBA prop bets for April 13.

NBA prop bets

Best Bet: Edwards over 25.5 points (-108)

The Timberwolves have a wide range of outcomes today. But one thing is certain: If they win, they’ll avoid the play-in tournament.

That shouldn’t be too much to ask against the lowly Utah Jazz — especially with a red-hot Edwards leading the charge.

  • Over his last seven games, Edwards averaged 28.9 points and scored 25+ six times.
  • He’s taking a ton of shots, attempting 19.6 field goals per game during that time, while shooting above 50%.
  • Plus, he’s been lighting it up from deep, attempting 11.0 3-pointers and making 4.3 a night (39.0%).

This is practically a playoff game for the T-Wolves, and Edwards has proven to be the go-to guy for them.

The Jazz have the worst defensive rating in the NBA (121.1). They also allow the second-most points per game to shooting guards (24.14), per Fantasy Pros.

Key stat: Edwards has scored 30-plus points against Utah in six straight games dating back to 2023.

Best NBA picks

LaVine over 23.5 points (-106): Like the T-Wolves, the Sacramento Kings can decide their fate as well.

No matter what, the Kings will play the Dallas Mavericks in the play-in, but Sacramento can guarantee that the contest is played at home with a win over the Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix will be without Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, so this is a prime spot for the Kings to grab a win.

And that effort should be spearheaded by LaVine with how he’s played over the last five games:

  • 31.6 PPG
  • 22.2 FGA
  • 53.2 FG%
  • 55.1 3PT%

What piques my interest the most, though, is his 5.4 made 3s per night over that timeframe.

His immense volume and MVP-calibre efficiency provide a very reliable floor at the moment.

Jokic to record a triple-double (+116): The last team I’ll highlight is the Denver Nuggets.

They can secure the fourth seed by simply beating the Houston Rockets. That task would usually be difficult, but the Rockets should be resting a lot of their key players to prepare for the postseason.

This could also go really poorly for Denver. A loss and an unlucky mixture of results around the league would drop the squad into the play-in tournament.

That’s why I expect Jokic to step up and have a big game for his team.

Well, actually, he would only need a standard performance; the big man averages a triple-double (29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 10.3 assists).

That includes cashing this wager in five of the past eight games. Two of the three times he fell short, he finished one assist shy.

NBA schedule, odds and betting lines April 13: Winner of Clippers vs. Warriors secures top-six seed

NBA schedule

It’s the final day of the NBA regular season, and all 30 teams are in action.

The latest: There is little chance for movement in the standings besides a jam-packed Western Conference. The winner of the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors game claims a top-six seed, while the loser could be in danger of missing the playoffs.

Betting insights

  • On the final day, there is still tons of room for movement in the Western Conference. Five teams have between 47 and 49 wins (Warriors, Timberwolves, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Clippers).
  • The most intriguing of those games is between the Clippers and the Warriors. It should be an intense matchup, as the winner clinches a playoff position, while the loser could end up in the play-in.
  • Memphis is locked into one of those play-in spots and will close out the season against another play-in team, the Mavericks. This could be a preview of a future game that would decide the final playoff spot.
  • The Eastern Conference is completely set, so there’s nothing on the line in those matchups. This could result in a lot of resting players from East teams.

Rockets vs. Lakers SGP predictions April 11: Bet on LeBron James to lead L.A. to victory

Rockets vs. Lakers predictions

The Los Angeles Lakers seek to secure their playoff seeding on Friday night in a home matchup against the Houston Rockets.

The pregame narrative: Houston, which has nothing to play for at this point, has three key players listed as questionable (Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith, Fred VanVleet). I’m fading Luka Doncic, but I like the Lakers to cover an alt spread and for LeBron James to fill the net.

Check out my Rockets vs. Lakers SGP predictions for April 11.

Rockets vs. Lakers predictions

Parlay: Lakers -5.5 | Doncic under 7.5 rebounds | LeBron 20+ points (+360)

Embed: #112402

Lakers -5.5 (-200): The Lakers need this one a lot more than the Rockets do.

Houston is nestled into the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. And with just two games to play, that isn’t going to change.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, needs a win to lock up the No. 3 spot. Otherwise, they could fall as far as fifth before the regular season concludes.

Less than two weeks ago, the Lakers covered this number in a 104-98 win over the Rockets at Crypto.com Arena.

Given that this game only means something to one side, I think an alt spread like this should be well within range for L.A.

The Lakers are 30-10 at home this season, cashing this bet in 17 of 25 home games since Jan. 1.

NBA SGP legs

Doncic under 7.5 rebounds (+106): This leg is the one that really boosts the SGP’s price, and I think it’s worth your while.

Doncic is definitely one of the more productive rebounding guards — being 230 pounds doesn’t hurt — but he hasn’t put up big numbers in that regard lately.

Over his past 10 games, Doncic has gone under 7.5 rebounds six times. He’s also landed on exactly eight rebounds three other times.

The Rockets allow the fourth-fewest rebounds overall, as well as the seventh-fewest against point guards, per Betting Pros.

Doncic has 11 total rebounds against Houston this year, hitting this under in both matchups.

LeBron 20+ points (-205): For an ageless superstar who’s averaging 24.6 points per game, I’ll gladly add LeBron to this parlay at this milestone.

LeBron only had 16 points when he faced the Rockets on March 31, but that was an efficient night given that he took an uncharacteristically low 12 shots.

Why did LeBron only take 12 shots? Probably because two bench players — Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent — caught fire from deep and shot a combined 12-of-24 beyond the arc.

In the likely event that that doesn’t happen again, LeBron should wind up closer to his average of 18.2 field-goal attempts.

LeBron has 20-plus points in 49 of 69 games, as well as 18-plus points in 58 of 69.

Warriors vs. Lakers predictions made at 2:00 p.m. ET 04/11/2025.

Grizzlies vs. Nuggets SGP predictions April 11: Bet on Jokic and Morant at +320

Grizzlies vs. Nuggets predictions

The Denver Nuggets host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday in a game with massive playoff implications.

The pregame narrative: Denver (48-32) occupies the fourth seed in the West but is just one game ahead of Memphis (47-33), which is currently seventh and in the play-in. Bet on the Nuggets to cover an alt spread alongside Nikola Jokic and Ja Morant props.

Check out my Grizzlies vs. Nuggets SGP predictions for April 11.

Grizzlies vs. Nuggets predictions

Parlay: Nuggets -3.5 | Jokic 25+ points | Morant 8+ assists (+320)

Embed: #112401

Nuggets -3.5 (-195): Denver made waves on Tuesday when it fired NBA championship-winning head coach Michael Malone after a four-game losing streak.

Was that a good idea? It’ll take some time to bear out, but the Nuggets responded with a 124-116 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. In the short term, I expect Denver to keep rolling into the playoffs.

The Nuggets have the fourth-best home offensive rating in basketball (120.6) and catch the Grizzlies playing on a back-to-back.

Memphis lost 141-125 last night and now has to travel to play at altitude — this seems like a prime fade spot.

NBA SGP legs

Jokic 25+ points (-345): The odds indicate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will win the MVP, but Jokic is making a strong case to snap that away.

The Serbian superstar is averaging 32.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 9.4 assists since March 1. In that span, he has crushed this milestone:

  • 25+ points in 10 of 14 games
  • 30+ points in 8 of 14 games

Jokic scored 20 points his last time out against the Kings despite only taking 12 shots. In the three games before that, he dropped 41, 33 and 63 points.

I expect the three-time MVP to take over this game and lock in a favourable playoff seeding.

Morant 8+ assists (+107): One of the reasons Malone was fired was shoddy defence, and I don’t expect the Nuggets to right that ship within days of his departure.

  • Denver has the eighth-worst defensive rating at home.
  • The Nuggets allow the third-most assists per game (29.0).

Morant is 3-6 against this line in his last nine games, but he’s also landed on seven assists three times. This is a good matchup for him to over-index.

I’m also not worried about the point guard playing on a back-to-back. Morant is averaging 9.0 assists in six games with no rest.

Grizzlies vs. Nuggets predictions made at 1:00 p.m. ET 04/11/2025.

Best NBA prop bets April 11: Bet on Steph Curry to fill the basket on Friday

NBA prop bets

Every NBA team is in action on Friday as the league’s regular season draws to a close. I’ve got three prop bets for slate, headlined by Steph Curry.

The pregame narrative: The Golden State Warriors are in a five-team logjam to escape the Western Conference play-in, and I expect Curry to score in droves against the Portland Trail Blazers. My other plays are on Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels.

Check out the best NBA prop bets for April 11.

NBA prop bets

Best Bet: Curry over 25.5 points (-108)

The Warriors are 14-point favourites as of Friday morning, so this game has blowout potential.

But that doesn’t scare me away from this line. Golden State is sixth in the West and can avoid the play-in if it holds serve. Steve Kerr has every incentive to run his horses out there — and if there is a massive blowout, Curry is likely to be at the helm.

The future Hall of Famer leads the Dubs in points (24.5) and shots (18.0) per game. This seems like a “leave no doubt” moment for Curry, who has been red-hot in April:

  • 30.5 points/game
  • 21.2 FGA/game
  • 25+ points in 5 of 6 games
  • 30+ points in 4 of 6 games

Portland has held Curry in check over the last three seasons (21.3 PPG, 2-4 vs. this line), but I’ll still side with the sharpshooter tonight.

Key stat: The Blazers have given up the 10th-most PPG to point guards this season, according to Fantasy Pros.

Best NBA picks

Giddey over 19.5 rebounds and assists (-108): The Chicago Bulls are one of the hottest teams in basketball, and Giddey has been at the forefront of their success.

The do-it-all point guard is averaging 20.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 9.4 assists (20.0RRA) since March 1. Giddey has cleared this line in three of his last four games and draws an A-plus matchup against the bottom-feeding Washington Wizards.

  • Washington has the third-worst defensive rating in basketball (118.7).
  • On a per-game basis, the Wizards allow the fifth-most rebounds and assists to point guards.

Daniels over 11.5 rebounds and assists (-130): Daniels blew by this total last night with a near-triple-double 10-9-9 performance.

The “Great Barrier Thief” is averaging career-highs in points (14.2), rebounds (5.9) and assists (4.3) while playing DPOY-calibre defence.

He is 7-6 against this line in his last 13 games and should stay hot against a Philadelphia 76ers team that stopped trying to win a while ago.

The Sixers are 4-18 with the third-worst defensive rating since March 1.

Giddey over 39.5 PRA (-122): The Chicago Bulls are one of the hottest teams in basketball, and Giddey has been at the forefront of their success.

The do-it-all point guard is averaging 20.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 9.4 assists (40.4 PRA) since March 1. Giddey has cleared this line in three straight games and draws an A-plus matchup against the bottom-feeding Washington Wizards.

  • On a per-game basis, the Wizards allow the most points, the fifth-most rebounds, and the fifth-most assists to point guards.

Daniels over 26.5 PRA (-107): I backed Daniels on this exact market last night, and he came through with a 10-9-9 performance.
