NHL anytime goal picks Nov. 2: Bet on Dylan Larkin, Chris Kreider to strike

NHL anytime goal picks

Two consistent offensive forces headline my NHL anytime goal picks for Sunday.

The pregame narrative: Dylan Larkin is leading the Detroit Red Wings’ early-season success, and he’s a great pick to tickle twine on Sunday. Elsewhere, Chris Kreider is looking comfortable on the Anaheim Ducks and has value to produce.

NHL anytime goal picks

Best Bet: Larkin to score (+125)

Larkin is becoming someone you can set your watch to, and he’s on pace to produce his best season yet.

The Detroit captain has scored 30-plus goals and 69-plus points in four consecutive seasons. This year, he may be taking his game to another level.

-> Bet on Larkin and the Red Wings tonight!

The 29-year-old has eight goals and 17 points through 12 games, and is a big reason why the Red Wings have been one of the biggest surprises in the early going.

His production is no fluke, either. Larkin ranks highly in the following categories:

  • 19th in expected goals (5.86)
  • T-23rd in scoring chances (43)
  • T-38th in high-danger chances (19)
  • T-50th in shots (33)

The matchup is ripe for Larkin to do damage, too. Detroit battles the San Jose Sharks, and they’ve struggled mightily in their own zone.

San Jose is allowing the third-most shots per game (31.6) and is tied for ceding the most goals per outing (4.17).

Larkin will be in the mix offensively in a juicy spot.

Key stat: Larkin has five goals in his last seven games.

NHL predictions

Kreider to score (+225): Few players scoring at Kreider’s pace are priced in this range.

The ex-New York Rangers star is fitting in nicely with the Ducks. He has five goals through six games this season, including a marker in his most recent outing.

He’s in prime position to lead Anaheim’s offence. Kreider plays on Anaheim’s first line alongside Leo Carlsson and Troy Terry, a pair of playmaking forwards who can get him the puck.

-> Join NorthStar Bets to bet on Kreider now

Most impressively, Kreider ranks second on the Ducks in high-danger chances (18) despite missing four games due to illness.

That’s a testament to Kreider’s ability to dominate in front of the net.

The matchup against the New Jersey Devils is a little more appealing than it may seem. New Jersey played on Saturday, which means Jake Allen will start instead of Jacob Markstrom.

Commanders vs. Chiefs MNF Week 8 SGP predictions: Bet on Washington, McLaurin in +380 ticket

Commanders vs. Chiefs predictions

The Washington Commanders hit the road to battle the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

The pregame narrative: Jayden Daniels is out for Washington, which is a significant blow. There is good injury news coming the Commanders’ way, however, which should give them a fighting chance against Kansas City.

Check out my Commanders vs. Chiefs picks for Oct. 27, featuring a prop bet on Terry McLaurin.

-> Join NorthStar Bets to start betting on the NFL

Commanders vs. Chiefs predictions

Parlay: Commanders +12 | McLaurin over 47.5 receiving yards | Mariota over 30.5 rushing yards (+380)

Commanders +12 (-118): Washington just got absolutely lit up by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7.

The Cowboys hung 44 points on the Commanders in a lopsided win, and it seems like Washington is being docked considerably for that result.

But I don’t really think it should be.

Dallas’s offence is elite. The Cowboys are averaging the second-most points per game (31.7), and a league-best 41.3 points per game at home. That includes a 40-point showing against a strong Green Bay Packers defence.

-> Bet on the Commanders against the Chiefs

The issue in Week 7 was that Washington didn’t have the playmakers to keep up with Dallas.

That won’t be the case against the Chiefs in Week 8.

Both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel will be active for Monday Night Football. That will help Marcus Mariota, who has been serviceable as a backup.

Conversely, the Chiefs are battling some offensive line injuries. Tackle Josh Simmons is out, while guard Trey Smith is doubtful.

Both missing this primetime contest could allow Washington to generate some pressure and make Patrick Mahomes uncomfortable.

And while many are anointing the return of the Chiefs, I still have my reservations. Blowing out a Las Vegas Raiders team missing their top two receiving options doesn’t move the needle for me.

I’ll gladly back Washington in this spot as a significant underdog. The Commanders have covered this number in six of their seven games this season.

Embed: #120076

Monday Night Football SGP picks

McLaurin over 47.5 receiving yards (-115): Washington needs this game to keep pace in the NFC.

If McLaurin is playing, I expect him to be close to full health. After all, the Commanders were cautious about bringing McLaurin back up to speed at the beginning of the season.

-> Visit NorthStar Bets for all NFL Week 8 betting markets

Mariota struggled in his relief appearance last week, but that was without McLaurin and Samuel in the lineup.

McLaurin played one game with Mariota this season and totalled 74 receiving yards in the contest.

I anticipate the backup QB locking in on his top playmaker.

Mariota over 30.5 rushing yards (-118): Lastly, I expect Mariota to use his legs to make plays in this contest.

He’s shown he’s willing to do so this season, clearing this mark in two of his three appearances this season.

That includes an impressive 34 rushing yards in last week’s game despite playing just 31% of the snaps.

The matchup is right for Mariota, too, as the Chiefs are surrendering the sixth-most rushing yards per game to opposing passers (26.7).

Packers vs. Steelers Week 8 SNF TD pick: Bet on Jonnu Smith to deliver

Packers vs. Steelers TD picks

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers meet under the lights of Sunday Night Football.

The pregame narrative: The Packers and the Steelers are both searching for a big win to stay ahead in their respective divisions. A consistent presence on the Pittsburgh offence has my attention, while a returning receiver should be ready to make an instant impact for Green Bay.

Check out our top Packers vs. Steelers SNF TD picks.

Packers vs. Steelers TD picks: Week 8

Best Bet: Smith to score a TD (+250)

Betting on a tight end to score a touchdown on National Tight End’s Day only feels right.

But that’s not the crux of my analysis for this pick.

Smith has a pair of touchdowns this season, scoring his most recent in last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

-> Bet on Sunday Night Football

The tight end is one of Aaron Rodgers’s go-to options in the red zone, leading all Pittsburgh receivers with two targets inside the 10.

Smith stares down an intriguing matchup against a Packers defence that’s struggling to contain tight ends.

Green Bay is surrendering the most receptions per game to the position (8.3), and has not been able to keep tight ends out of the end zone.

Key stat: The Packers have allowed the third-most touchdowns to tight ends this season (five).

Packers vs. Steelers Week 8 SNF TD picks: Bet on Jonnu Smith, Christian Watson to deliver

Packers vs. Steelers TD picks

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers meet under the lights of Sunday Night Football.

Packers vs. Steelers TD picks: Week 8

Best Bet: Smith to score a TD (+290)

Betting on a tight end to score a touchdown on National Tight End’s Day only feels right.

But that’s not the crux of my analysis for this pick.

Smith has a pair of touchdowns this season, scoring his most recent in last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

 Sunday Night Football TD picks

Watson to score a TD (+285): Watson is slated to make his season debut in primetime.

The wide receiver hasn’t played since suffering a torn ACL at the end of last season. After being out for almost 300 days, I expect Watson to shine.

The 6-foot-4, 208-pound wide receiver is a great addition to this passing attack. His size makes him an elite red-zone option.

-> Visit NorthStar Bets for all NFL Week 8 betting markets

In addition to being a solid contested catch option near the end zone, Watson can also make big plays.

Watson averaged a ridiculous 21.4 yards per catch across 15 games last season.

The matchup works in his favour, too, as the Steelers are ceding the 11th-most yards per pass (7.1).

Lakers vs. Kings SGP predictions Oct. 26: Fade Doncic, Reaves in +390 ticket

Lakers vs. ings predictions

The Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings meet in an early-season matchup with both squads looking to earn a win.

The pregame narrative: The Lakers and Kings each enter this matchup with a 1-1 record. Neither offence is setting the league on fire to open the campaign, which has me eyeing a low-scoring game.

Check out my Lakers vs. Kings SGP predictions for Oct. 26, featuring Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Lakers vs. Kings predictions

Parlay: Under 235.5 points | Doncic under 33.5 points | Reaves under 23.5 points (+390)

Under 235.5 points (-210): I’m not expecting either team to light up the scoreboard, which is why I’m teasing the total up and taking the under.

The Lakers and Kings met four times last year, and both of their meetings in Sacramento fell well below this total.

-> Bet on NBA futures at NorthStar Bets

Los Angeles and Sacramento averaged a lowly 207.5 points per game in those contests.

The Kings are shaping up to be a strong under team early on. They’re 26th in points per game (110.5), but a strong sixth in points against (112.0).

The Lakers aren’t scoring at a ridiculous pace, either, ranking a middling 16th in points per game through two contests (118.5).

Embed: #120090

NBA SGP legs

Doncic under 33.5 points (-107): I know full well what I’m stepping in front of here.

Doncic is a freight train capable of making this pick look foolish on any given night. The Lakers guard is on fire to start the season.

Doncic has topped this prop in both outings. In fact, he’s cleared 40 points twice already.

-> Fade Luka Doncic to fill the basket against Phoenix

So why am I fading him?

Firstly, he’s a little banged up. The Lakers announced that Doncic is dealing with a left finger sprain.

Secondly, Los Angeles is scheduled to play on Monday. It may be more likely to manage Doncic’s minutes with two games in as many days.

Reaves under 23.5 points (-122): Lastly, I’m adding to my unders fest with a Reaves under.

Like Doncic, the Lakers shooting guard has usurped this total in back-to-back games.

Naturally, this also begs the question: Why am I fading him, too?

The Kings were a tough matchup for Reaves in 2024-25. The shooting guard averaged just 20.8 points per game against Sacramento.

Even though Reaves has cleared this total twice, he barely scraped by each time (25 and 26). This number seems closer to his ceiling than his mean, which is why I’ll happily back the under.

Packers vs. Steelers SNF Week 8 SGP predictions: Bet on Aaron Rodgers to shine in +375 ticket

Packers vs. Steelers predictions

Sunday Night Football is oozing with storylines as the Green Bay Packers battle the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The pregame narrative: Aaron Rodgers faces the Packers for the first time. The veteran quarterback will likely be motivated to shine in a pivotal primetime showdown. Jordan Love, however, aims to prove that he’s the man to bring the next Lombardi Trophy to Titletown.

Packers vs. Steelers predictions

SGP: Steelers +3 | Rodgers over 1.5 touchdowns | Smith over 28.5 receiving yards (+360)

Steelers +3 (-112): Betting on Mike Tomlin and the Steelers as a home underdog has historically been a wise move.

Pittsburgh is 20-7-3 ATS in this spot since he took over as head coach, which is an extremely impressive record.

-> Bet on Sunday Night Football

While this trend is worth mentioning, it’s not the main reason for this pick.

Rodgers has led the Steelers to a strong 4-2 record this season, and his teammates should be extra motivated to pick him up in a big spot.

Pittsburgh also holds a rest advantage in this game. It played on Thursday Night Football last week, while Green Bay is playing its second road game in as many weeks.

The Packers have not looked good on the road, either, going a pedestrian 1-1-1 despite not playing a team with a winning record as a visitor.

Sunday Night Football SGP picks

Rodgers over 1.5 touchdowns (-106): Few NFL players are more spiteful than Rodgers.

I expect Rodgers to be in peak form against Green Bay, considering the split between him and the franchise was not amicable.

-> Visit NorthStar Bets for all NFL Week 8 betting markets

Rodgers isn’t lighting the league on fire this year, but he’s tied for fifth in passing touchdowns with 14 and has topped this number in four of six games.

Green Bay has allowed a fair number of touchdowns to QBs. The Packers are tied for allowing the 10th-most pass touchdowns per game (1.7).

Smith over 26.5 receiving yards (-118): Lastly, I’m betting on Smith having a solid receiving day for the Steelers.

The tight end has only topped this mark once in 2025 despite averaging a respectable 4.3 targets per game.

The matchup is right for him, however, in Week 8. The Packers are ceding the 11th-most receiving yards to tight ends this season (62.5).

Additionally, they’re allowing the most receptions per game to the position (8.3).

Smith likely remains involved on offence and should have a strong performance on Sunday night.

Best NHL anytime goal picks Oct. 25: Bet on Draisaitl, Rantanen to score

NHL anytime goal picks

Two of the NHL’s best scorers highlight my NHL anytime goal picks.

NHL anytime goal picks

Best Bet: Rantanen to score 1+ goals (+155)

It’s been a solid yet unspectacular start to the season for Rantanen after his wild playoff run.

The veteran winger had 22 points across 18 games during the postseason. He has three goals and eight points through seven outings this year.

His shot totals are down recently, too, with just two shots in his last couple of games.

So why am I targeting Rantanen on this prop?

s-> Bet on Mikko Rantanen to score tonight!

Firstly, this is a nice number for somebody with Rantanen’s goal-scoring track record. Rantanen is fifth among all players in goals since the 2020-21 campaign with 198.

Secondly, this is a nice scheduling spot for Dallas.

The Hurricanes visit at the end of a six-game road trip, where they’ve shown some signs of suspect defence and goaltending.

They’ve allowed 11 goals across their last three games.

I expect Dallas to get right on Saturday and Rantanen to contribute.

Key stat: Carolina is ceding the seventh-most scoring chances per 60 across the last week of the season (31.8), according to Natural Stat Trick.

NHL predictions

Draisaitl to score 1+ goals (+115): This is a steep price for a goal-scorer prop, but I’ll pay it.

Draisaitl has been as advertised this year, scoring five goals in eight games. That puts him on pace to score 50-plus goals for the fourth time in his last five seasons.

The Oilers forward only has 20 shots thus far, but his high-end shooting skills allow him to convert even with limited opportunities.

-> Back Leon Draisaitl against the Seattle Kraken

He should be able to find room to operate on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken, a team struggling to keep the puck out of its net.

The Kraken have allowed three-plus goals in five of their last six games (21 total).

Edmonton’s offence shouldn’t struggle to score, and that likely means Draisaitl gets in on the action.

Sabres vs. Maple Leafs prop picks Oct. 25: Bet on John Tavares to top his shot prop

Maple Leafs picks

The Toronto Maple Leafs look to salvage a win from their home-and-home series with the Buffalo Sabres.

The pregame narrative: Toronto lost the game and William Nylander on Friday night. Nylander’s status for tonight’s game is uncertain, and that’s bad news for the team’s offence. Cayden Primeau gets the start, and that could be problematic as well.

Check out my Maple Leafs prop picks vs. the Sabres for the game on Oct. 25, featuring John Tavares.

Maple Leafs picks vs. Sabres

Best Bet: Tavares over 2.5 shots (-106)

This isn’t a line Tavares is beating with much regularity this season.

But he topped it last night, and there’s reason to believe in a repeat performance.

Toronto switched up its forward lines ahead of Friday’s game. The team bumped Nylander to the first line with Auston Matthews, while putting Matthew Knies on Tavares’ wing on the second line.

-> Bet on John Tavares tonight!

As a result, Tavares finished the game with three shots, his second-highest total of the season.

Having a player like Knies, who is a great puck retriever, should lead to more shot opportunities for Tavares.

The matchup doesn’t get any better for Tavares. Buffalo is allowing the most shots per game this season (33.3).

It surrendered 34 shots to Toronto in last night’s contest.

Bet on a solid shot showing from Tavares.

Key stat: Tavares has topped this prop in each of his last two games, totalling eight shots.

Best NHL prop predictions

Alex Tuch to score 1+ points (-125): This is another wager I can get behind.

Tuch is tied with Benson for the team lead in points (seven) and has a point in five of his last six games.

He scored a pair of points in last night’s win against the Maple Leafs and is poised to produce once again.

-> Don’t miss out — Bet on Sabres vs. Maple Leafs prop markets

Tuch plays all situations for the Sabres, leading all forwards in average ice time (20:09).

He should see plenty of opportunities to score against a Toronto squad ceding the fifth-most goals per game (3.75).
