World Series home run picks Game 7: Bet on George Springer and Freddie Freeman to go deep

World Series home run picks

Hitting a home run in Game 7 of the World Series is something any baseball fan dreams of. Who will realize that dream on Saturday night?

The pregame narrative: The Toronto Blue Jays host the Los Angeles Dodgers in a winner-take-all championship battle tonight, with Max Scherzer scheduled to start against Shohei Ohtani. There were 15 homers in the first five games, but none in Game 6 on Friday.

Check out our staff’s World Series home run picks for Game 7 on Nov. 1.

World Series home run picks: Game 7

NorthStar Bets’ Avery Perri and Jordan Horrobin offer up their top World Series home run prop predictions for Game 7 on Saturday.

George Springer (+600)

Springer etched himself in Toronto sports lore with his epic home run in Game 7 of the ALCS.

-> Bet on Springer to hit a dinger in World Series Game 7!

The veteran DH is as clutch as it gets — his 23 postseason home runs rank third all-time — and I think he has one more moment in store tonight.

Let’s not forget he’s coming off a monster regular season, too:

  • 4th in wRC+ (166)
  • 7th in SLG (.560)
  • 17th in HR (33)

Batting from the right side, Springer runs reverse splits against right-handed pitchers.

He slashed .327/.412/.588 vs. RHPs this year and is one of several Blue Jays to have Ohtani’s number.

Springer is 7-for-15 against Ohtani with two home runs.

Tyler Glasnow will likely have a bulk role in this game after Ohtani exits. Springer has hit him hard, too, going 6-for-16 with a home run.

-Perri

Freddie Freeman (+500)

Max Scherzer is putting the finishing touches on a Hall-of-Fame career, and he’s had some awesome moments in this final chapter.

But the ball will be a flight risk for however long he’s on the mound in Game 7.

  • Scherzer coughed up two home runs in his first start over the Fall Classic. Dating back to Aug. 25, he has allowed 11 HRs in his past eight starts.
  • His 2.08 HR/9 this season is nearly double what his career average was entering the year (1.05 HR/9).

-> See all Game 7 player props at NorthStar Bets

Freeman didn’t homer off Scherzer back in Game 3, but he does have three HRs and a .429 SLG in this head-to-head matchup (66 plate appearances).

Those aren’t the best power numbers imaginable, but at least the level of familiarity is high.

Freeman, last year’s World Series MVP, hasn’t been as productive this time around. But he’s been better than his numbers suggest.

According to Baseball Savant, Freeman has a .262 xBA against the Blue Jays — compared to a .217 BA (5-for-23).

The first baseman had the walk-off homer to wrap up Game 3 in the 18th inning, and he’s been close to clearing the wall a handful of other times. Freeman has five fly-ball outs with an exit velocity north of 98 mph that travelled at least 350 feet.

I think there’s a good chance someone goes yard off Scherzer, and Freeman is my favourite pick given the price tag.

NFL Week 9 staff best bets: Bet on a Rams blowout, Gibbs to rumble against Vikings

NFL Week 9 best bets

Our staff’s NFL Week 9 predictions comprise two ATS picks, one moneyline bet, and one player prop.

The Week 9 narrative: Two of this week’s biggest favourites are featured in the ATS section, as the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions look to author convincing wins at home. For prop bettors, find out why Jahmyr Gibbs is poised to run wild in the Motor City.

NFL Week 9 best bets

These NFL Week 9 best bets were provided by NorthStar Bets writers Jordan Horrobin and Avery Perri.

ATS picks

Rams -14 (-106): Laying 14 points in the NFL is scary, but there’s a reason this number is so big.

Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough makes his first start for the 1-7 Saints. The 26-year-old second-round pick is hardly a blue-chip prospect and takes over an offence averaging just 16.0 PPG.

  • Shough is playing behind an offensive line which ranks dead last in pass block win rate.
  • Spencer Rattler, who was just benched, was sacked 18 times in eight starts.
  • Los Angeles ranks eighth in pressure rate and second in QB sacks (26).

With all that said, Shough’s NFL debut will probably be one to forget.

And then there’s Los Angeles’ offence, which is coming off an emphatic 35-point performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

All signs point to star wide receiver Puka Nacua returning, which is the cherry on top for this wager. Don’t be surprised if the Rams win this game by 30.

-Perri

Embed: #120474

Lions -8.5 (-110): Looks like Avery and I are both willing to lay a bunch of points this week, and I think both picks are perfectly warranted.

In Detroit’s case, I’m backing a team that is 3-0 ATS at home this season with a +70 point differential. Also, the Lions are 3-0 ATS at home in their past three matchups vs. the Vikings, covering this number each time.

Detroit is coming off a bye as well, and that rest advantage just feels like a bonus.

Don’t expect J.J. McCarthy to keep up with the Lions’ No. 3 ranked scoring offence.

-Horrobin

Moneyline bet

49ers to win (-150): This feels like a nice bounce-back spot for the Niners, who are coming off a dud on the road against Houston.

New York is without Malik Nabers (knee) and Cam Skattebo (ankle) for the season. Jaxson Dart has played well, but I can’t see him willing the Giants to victory against a sound 49ers defence.

And even if he can muster some offence, New York’s defence has conceded 71 points in its last two games. The G-Men are giving up the third-most rushing yards per game, so expect a heavy dose of Christian McCaffrey in this one.

New York is just 11-31 over the last three seasons, with a league-worst -9.8 average margin of victory.

-Perri

NFL Week 9 best bets: Player props

Gibbs over 70.5 rushing yards (-118): I can see Detroit, a 9-point favourite at the time of writing, laying a beating on Minnesota at home. If that holds, Gibbs should get a boatload of touches

The Vikings’ defence has looked awfully suspect following their Week 6 bye. They gave up 28 points to the Philadelphia Eagles and 37 points to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Subpar QB play from Carson Wentz didn’t help, but can we really expect McCarthy to be much better?

-> Bet on Gibbs against the Vikings

On the whole, Minnesota’s defence ranks sixth in EPA per dropback and 25th in EPA per rush. Even in a close game, Dan Campbell should be incentivized to run the ball.

Moreover, Gibbs has been the alpha dog in Detroit’s RB tandem:

  • Gibbs: 104 carries, 526 yards (5.1 YPA)
  • David Montgomery: 78 carries, 355 yards (4.6 YPA)

Gibbs is also coming off his best game of the season — rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 17 attempts. I expect him to follow that up with another monster performance.

NFL Week 9 Beat the Spread staff predictions: ATS picks for the 14-game slate

NFL ATS picks

The NFL regular season has reached its halfway point, with 14 games on tap for bettors to tackle against the spread.

The Week 9 narrative: There are a whopping eight home underdogs in Week 9. That includes the Buffalo Bills, who aim to stop the red-hot Kansas City Chiefs. Our staff has mixed feelings on how that game will play out.

NFL ATS picks: Week 9

NorthStar Bets’ Avery Perri, Jordan Horrobin, Spencer Closs, Chris Toman and Steven Psihogios offer up their Week 9 NFL ATS picks for all 14 games.

NFL odds as of 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025.

Thursday Night Football pick

Ravens vs. Dolphins (Thursday, Oct. 30: 8:15 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Baltimore -7.5
Closs says: Welcome back, Lamar Jackson. With the quarterback returning on Thursday, I expect a big effort from the Ravens. The offence is averaging 32.3 points per game with their starting QB under centre, and the Dolphins are a bad defensive team. Miami allows 145.0 rushing yards per contest, so expect Derrick Henry and Jackson to move the ball at will.

Staff picks: Perri (BAL) | Horrobin (MIA) | Closs (BAL) | Toman (BAL) | Psihogios (BAL)

NFL ATS picks: The early Sunday slate

Falcons vs. Patriots (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: New England -5.5
Closs says: How can anyone bet against Drake Maye right now? The sophomore QB has led the Patriots to a 6-2 record behind a top 10 scoring offence. The squad has the eighth-best scoring defence to match and now faces an Atlanta team that was just blown out by the Dolphins. Michael Penix Jr. and Drake London are in jeopardy of missing another game, which would move this line even further in favour of the Pats.

Staff picks: Perri (NE) | Horrobin (NE) | Closs (NE) | Toman (ATL) | Psihogios (ATL)

-> Bet on the Buffalo Bills at NorthStar Bets

Panthers vs. Packers (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Green Bay -13.5
Toman says: Carolina had a back-to-reality moment in Week 8, losing by 31 at home to the Bills to snap a three-game win streak. Getting back on track at Lambeau seems impossible, but covering this lofty spread isn’t (the Panthers are a strong 5-3 ATS). Despite piling up wins, Green Bay hasn’t covered this number since Week 1.

Staff picks: Perri (CAR) | Horrobin (CAR) | Closs (GB) | Toman (CAR) | Psihogios (GB)

Bears vs. Bengals (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Chicago -3
Horrobin says: Backing the Chicago Bears on the road is something I’m just not going to do. They’re 2-2 with a pair of one-point wins and a pair of losses that came by 13+ points. That includes a blowout defeat against the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens last week, in which they scored just 16 points against a bad defence. Cincinnati might not have Joe Flacco, but the team is at home for a third straight week and covered this number in the previous two.

Staff picks: Perri (CHI) | Horrobin (CIN) | Closs (CIN) | Toman (CHI) | Psihogios (CIN)

-> Place your bets on the Week 9 slate

Broncos vs. Texans (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Houston -1.5
Closs says: I don’t trust the Texans. They are 3-4 this season but 1-4 against teams above .500, with the sole win coming against an injury-riddled 49ers squad. The Broncos (6-2) are on a five-game win streak and just whooped the Cowboys, 44-24. The offence is coming alive to match a top-five defensive unit. The Texans have a strong defence, too, but I have much more faith in Denver’s offence right now.

Staff picks: Perri (DEN) | Horrobin (HOU) | Closs (DEN) | Toman (DEN) | Psihogios (HOU)

Colts vs. Steelers (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Indianapolis -3.5
Perri says: I don’t care about Mike Tomlin’s fantastic record as a home underdog. Pittsburgh’s defence has been horrible, allowing the third-most yards per game, and faces the NFL’s hottest team. Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor are rolling behind an elite offensive line, scoring a league-best 33.8 PPG. Can 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers keep up with that? I doubt it.

Staff picks: Perri (IND) | Horrobin (IND) | Closs (PIT) | Toman (PIT) | Psihogios (PIT)

-> Make Week 9 ATS picks at NorthStar Bets

Chargers vs. Titans (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Los Angeles -9.5
Perri says: Los Angeles picked up an emphatic 37-10 win on Thursday Night Football in Week 8 with Joe Alt returning to left tackle. The Chargers are now 4-0 in games Alt has played start to finish, and I’m confident Justin Herbert will cook with his blindside covered. Tennessee has lost six of its last eight games by double-digit points.

Staff picks: Perri (LAC) | Horrobin (LAC) | Closs (TEN) | Toman (LAC) | Psihogios (LAC)

Vikings vs. Lions (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Detroit -9
Horrobin says: Detroit has dominated this NFC North clash in recent years, posting a 9-1 ATS record since the start of the 2020 season. In their past three home matchups vs. the Vikings, the Lions are 3-0 ATS and covered this number each time. Detroit, which is coming off a bye, has won its three home games this season by a combined 70 points.

Staff picks: Perri (DET) | Horrobin (DET) | Closs (DET) | Toman (DET) | Psihogios (MIN)

49ers vs. Giants (Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: San Francisco -2.5
Toman says: The Giants have played good football at times, leading to a couple of impressive wins. But they’ve also been blown out multiple times, giving up 30-plus points in consecutive weeks. Now they enter Sunday down impact rookie back Cam Skattebo. The banged-up 49ers have been hanging around, and I expect them to do that and more on the road this week.

Staff picks: Perri (SF) | Horrobin (NYG) | Closs (SF) | Toman (SF) | Psihogios (SF)

NFL 4 p.m. slate

-> Bet on this weekend’s NFL action at NorthStar Bets

Jaguars vs. Raiders (Sunday, Nov. 2: 4:05 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Jacksonville -3
Perri says: Jacksonville has cooled off after its 4-1 start, losing consecutive games while scoring just 19 points. But Las Vegas has hardly looked competitive this season, and just got boat-raced 31-0 by Kansas City. Geno Smith has been horrible under centre, leading an offence which ranks 31st in scoring and EPA per play. Expect a bounce-back from the Jags.

Staff picks: Perri (JAX) | Horrobin (LV) | Closs (JAX) | Toman (JAX) | Psihogios (LV)

Saints vs. Rams (Sunday, Nov. 2: 4:25 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Los Angeles -14
Perri says: This is a massive number, but I can’t get behind New Orleans in Tyler Shough’s first NFL start. The 2025 second-round pick is taking over the fourth-worst scoring offence (16.0 PPG) with a line ranking last in pass block win rate. Los Angeles can wreak havoc defensively, and Puka Nacua is expected to make his return. This sure feels like a rout to me.

Staff picks: Perri (LAR) | Horrobin (LAR) | Closs (NO) | Toman (NO) | Psihogios (LAR)

Chiefs vs. Bills (Sunday, Oct. 19: 4:25 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Kansas City -2
Horrobin says: Buffalo’s playoff woes against Kansas City are well documented, but the dominance has worked in reverse in lower-leverage spots. The Bills are 4-0 with a +34 point differential in this matchup over the past four regular seasons. Since 2022, Buffalo has the best home record in the NFL (28-5, .840) … and the team is 4-1 SU as a home dog since 2020.

Staff picks: Perri (KC) | Horrobin (BUF) | Closs (BUF) | Toman (BUF) | Psihogios (BUF)

-> Bet on Sunday & Monday Night Football

Sunday and Monday Night NFL ATS picks

Seahawks vs. Commanders (Sunday, Nov. 2: 8:20 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Seattle -3
Horrobin says: Jayden Daniels is back, which is great for the Commanders, but I don’t think it’ll be enough. Seattle is 5-2 ATS, covering in all three of its road games. Pro Bowl corner Devon Witherspoon is expected to return for what is already a loaded Seattle defence, which complements an offence that ranks fifth in scoring (27.6 PPG).

Staff picks: Perri (SEA) | Horrobin (SEA) | Closs (SEA) | Toman (WSH) | Psihogios (WSH)

Cardinals vs. Cowboys (Monday, Nov. 3: 8:15 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Cowboys -2.5
Horrobin says: The Cowboys got steamrolled in Denver last week, but they’ve looked great at home so far. From inside Jerry World, Dallas has scored 40+ points in all three of its games and covered this number twice. Arizona hasn’t surpassed the 27-point mark yet this season and enters on a five-game SU losing skid.

Staff picks: Perri (DAL) | Horrobin (DAL) | Closs (DAL) | Toman (DAL) | Psihogios (ARI)

NFL ATS picks: Week 8 + season records: Closs: 5-8-0 (61-60-0) | Psihogios: 3-10-0 (57-64-0) | Toman: 4-9-0 (58-63-0) | Perri: 7-6-0 (59-62-0) | Horrobin: 4-9-0 (56-65-0)

The last NFL Sunday of October has arrived.

ATS picks: Get ATS predictions from five different staff writers on every game of the week.

NFL Week 8 TD picks: J.K. Dobbins has become a bell cow for the Broncos, and he has a palatable TD line against the Cowboys’ defence. If that doesn’t have your attention, maybe a +255 TD pick on a Houston wide receiver will.

Best bets: Rodgers is still spinning it in his age-41 season. Read why he’s a good bet to torch the Packers’ secondary, plus get a pair of ATS picks and one moneyline bet.

Prop bets: Don’t look now, but Drake Maye is an MVP candidate in his sophomore season. Jordan Horrobin is backing the phenom, alongside a star wide receiver and a star running back.

Packers vs. Steelers picks: Avery Perri is also backing the Rodgers-led offence to produce, taking the over on Pittsburgh’s team total. He also has a prop bet on Jaylen Warren.

Packers vs. Steelers SGP: Will Rodgers get some revenge? Steven Psihogios says yes. He’s betting on the Steelers and the veteran QB in his +360 ticket.

Packers vs. Steelers TD picks: Happy National Tight End’s Day! Find out how to back Jonnu Smith on Sunday Night Football.

Commanders vs. Chiefs picks: Kansas City is on a roll, and faces a Jayden Daniels-less Washington squad. That sounds like the recipe for a blowout.

Commanders vs. Chiefs SGP: Terry McLaurin is back for the Commanders. Bet on the wide receiver in this +380 Monday Night Football SGP.

NFL Week 8 betting notes

  • Just how hot are the Colts? Daniel Jones has led Indianapolis to a 6-1 start SU with a 5-2 ATS record. The squad is averaging a league-best 33.1 PPG and 3.46 points per drive.
  • Lamar Jackson has logged three straight full practices as of Friday, putting him in line to start against the Bears. He has a 24-3 SU record against NFC teams.
  • The Cowboys have the No. 2 scoring offence and No. 30 scoring defence. As a result, they’ve had four straight games go over 55 points (65.5 average).

NFL Week 8 staff best bets: Back Rodgers against Packers, fade winless Jets in Cincinnati

NFL Week 8 best bets

Our staff’s NFL Week 8 predictions comprise two ATS picks, one moneyline bet, and one player prop.

The Week 8 narrative: Aaron Rodgers faces the Green Bay Packers for the first time since leaving the franchise three years ago. Rodgers is off to a torrid start with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is looking to ride that wave. Elsewhere, the winless New York Jets are once again worth fading on the road.

NFL Week 8 best bets

These NFL Week 8 best bets were provided by NorthStar Bets writers Jordan Horrobin and Avery Perri.

ATS picks

Falcons -7.5 (-106): The Miami Dolphins have been atrocious on pretty much a weekly basis, and they’ve been particularly terrible on the road.

Last week’s 31-6 loss to a mediocre-at-best Cleveland Browns squad punctuates that.

Miami is now 1-3 ATS on the road (0-4 SU) with a -63 point differential. Three of the four losses have come by a double-digit margin.

Michael Penix (knee) was limited in the Falcons’ walk-through on Wednesday, but that situation doesn’t seem to be too serious. And Kirk Cousins is as competent as a backup can be.

Atlanta is 2-1 ATS at home this season, with outright wins over the Bills and Commanders, as well as a three-point loss against the Buccaneers.

The Dolphins are notably worse than all of those teams, and I think a comfortable win for the Falcons should be expected.

-Horrobin

Embed: #120020

Bengals -6.5 (-112): This Jets season has gotten very ugly, very quickly.

New York is the NFL’s only winless team, and it has a disastrous quarterback situation brewing.

Owner Woody Johnson publicly called out Justin Fields, who was benched for Tyrod Taylor in Week 7, stating: “If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you’re going to see similar results across the league.”

Now, Taylor is questionable to play with a knee injury, potentially lining up Fields for the start.

So the Jets will either have Fields, who has looked horrible so far, or a banged-up 38-year-old under centre.

Either one of those options should get boatraced by Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco looked great in his Bengals debut, throwing for 342 yards and beating the Pittsburgh Steelers as 5.5-point road underdogs on Thursday Night Football.

Cincy put up 33 points in that game, and New York has scored 17 combined points in its last two.

49ers to win (+100): Kyle Shanahan isn’t getting much Coach of the Year love — but he should be.

The 49ers are 5-2 and sit atop a deep NFC West division. And they’ve done that largely without George Kittle, Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk and Nick Bosa.

Kittle returned last week, and Purdy is questionable after missing three straight games with an injury. If the QB is back, all the better, but we’ve seen this team can win without him.

Christian McCaffrey is all the way back, and the 49ers defence is playing tough under Robert Saleh.

Houston enters on short rest after losing 27-19 to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. San Fran beat that same Seahawks team back in Week 1.

Overall, the Texans are 2-4 with wins agianst the bottom-feeding Tennesee Titans and Lamar Jackson-less Baltimore Ravens.

I’ll glady back the road underdog in this spot.

NFL Week 8 best bets: Player props

Rodgers over 1.5 passing TDs (-110): Rodgers recently told reporters he doesn’t have any animosity toward the Green Bay Packers, so I’m not going to try to push the revenge-game narrative too hard. And the game isn’t at Lambeau Field, anyway.

With that in mind, this pick is merely about an old guy who’s still got it.

The 41-year-old has 14 passing TDs in six games, going 4-2 vs. this prop. He has the NFL’s highest TD rate (8.1%), which might seem fluky, but he’s led the NFL in that stat four times before.

-> Bet on Aaron Rodgers to shine on SNF

Rodgers is known to do some of his best work in the red zone rather than handing the offence over to the run game.

So far in 2025, he’s 19 for 25 in the red zone with 10 TD passes. The RB room has 25 red zone rushes combined, so it’s truly an even split.

Green Bay’s run defence ranks inside the top six in attempts, yards, touchdowns and yards/attempt allowed. I expect Rodgers to take matters into his own hands.

NFL Week 8 Beat the Spread staff predictions: ATS picks for the 13-game slate

NFL ATS picks

NFL Week 8 has the season’s longest list of byes, but there are still 13 matchups kicking off from Thursday through Monday night.

The Week 8 narrative: The Kansas City Chiefs are 12-point favourites for a second consecutive week, as they’ll face the Jayden Daniel-less Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills return from a bye to lay 7.5 points on the road against the Carolina Panthers.

NFL ATS picks: Week 8

NorthStar Bets’ Avery Perri, Jordan Horrobin, Spencer Closs, Chris Toman and Steven Psihogios offer up their Week 8 NFL ATS picks for all 13 games.

NFL odds as of 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.

Thursday Night Football pick

Vikings vs. Chargers (Thursday, Oct. 23: 8:15 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Los Angeles -3
Horrobin says: Los Angeles is 0-4-1 ATS in its past five games, which might make this seem like a tough sell. But with star offensive tackle Joe Alt (ankle) expected back after missing three games, I think the Chargers can deploy a more balanced attack to support NFL passing leader Justin Herbert. Minnesota is sticking with Carson Wentz, who has thrown four interceptions and fumbled twice in the past three games.

NFL ATS picks: The early Sunday slate

Bills vs. Panthers (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Buffalo -7.5
Toman says: The Panthers have as many wins as the Bills and are undefeated at home, but they haven’t exactly been beating first-class competition. Coming off their bye week, I expect the Bills to get back on track Sunday and end their two-game skid. Before that, Buffalo had won three in a row by double digits following their thrilling Week 1 victory over Baltimore.

Staff picks: Perri (BUF) | Horrobin (CAR) | Closs (BUF) | Toman (BUF) | Psihogios (BUF)

-> Bet on the Buffalo Bills at NorthStar Bets

Bears vs. Ravens (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Baltimore -6.5
Toman says: Making this pick on a Thursday without Lamar Jackson’s Week 8 status known is tricky. But at this moment, the Bears are a slam-dunk play. They’re still appealing to me if Jackson (hamstring) returns. Baltimore has lost every game without Jackson by double digits and is an NFL-worst 1-5 ATS. The Bears have won four straight and are 5-1 ATS vs. this number.

Staff picks: Perri (BAL) | Horrobin (CHI) | Closs (CHI) | Toman (CHI) | Psihogios (CHI)

Browns vs. Patriots (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: New England -7
Closs says: The Browns are an elite defensive team. They allow the fewest yards per game (274.6). Rookie running back Quinshon Judkins is getting better by the week and just rumbled against the Dolphins for 84 yards and three touchdowns. I expect Cleveland to build on that performance, while relying on elite defence to limit New England’s offence. This game should stay within a score.

Staff picks: Perri (CLE) | Horrobin (NE) | Closs (CLE) | Toman (CLE) | Psihogios (CLE)

-> Place your bets on the Week 8 slate

Dolphins vs. Falcons (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Atlanta -7.5
Closs says:  The Falcons played poorly in Week 7, losing by 10 against the injury-riddled 49ers. Fortunately, this is a great bounce-back spot. Miami is now 1-6, and Tua Tagovailoa was benched in last week’s 31-6 beatdown by the Browns. The defence isn’t any better, allowing 27+ points in five of six games. There’s nothing positive happening for the Phins right now, so I’ll back Atlanta to give them another blowout loss.

Staff picks: Perri (ATL) | Horrobin (ATL) | Closs (ATL) | Toman (ATL) | Psihogios (ATL)

Giants vs. Eagles (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Philadelphia -7.5
Horrobin says: For the second time in three weeks, Jaxson Dart and the Giants are 7.5-point underdogs against the Eagles. New York earned a 17-point outright victory at home in the first go-round, following that up with a one-point loss in Denver last week (as 8.5-point dogs). Philly still hasn’t covered a -7.5 spread all season.

Staff picks: Perri (PHI) | Horrobin (NYG) | Closs (PHI) | Toman (NYG) | Psihogios (PHI)

-> Make Week 8 ATS picks at NorthStar Bets

Jets vs. Bengals (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Cincinnati -6.5
Perri says: Fading New York at this juncture seems like a no-brainer. The Jets are the NFL’s only winless team, and hit the road to take on a Bengals squad with a rest advantage. Joe Flacco authored an upset, 33-31, victory over the Steelers in his Bengals debut last Thursday Night Football. He should easily be able to outpace Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor with Garrett Wilson likely sidelined.

Staff picks: Perri (CIN) | Horrobin (CIN) | Closs (CIN) | Toman (CIN) | Psihogios (CIN)

49ers vs. Texans (Sunday, Oct. 26: 1 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Houston -1
Perri says: Kyle Shanahan has his Niners at 5-2 despite a laundry list of injuries, and I think they can improve on that record this weekend. Houston’s two wins were against the downtrodden Titans and the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens. Outside of that, the Texans are 0-4 while averaging 14.3 PPG. San Francisco’s defence is legit under Robert Saleh, and I trust that unit will give C.J. Stroud trouble.

Staff picks: Perri (SF) | Horrobin (SF) | Closs (SF) | Toman (SF) | Psihogios (HOU)

NFL 4 p.m. slate

-> Bet on this weekend’s NFL action at NorthStar Bets

Buccaneers vs. Saints (Sunday, Oct. 26: 4:05 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Tampa Bay -4.5
Horrobin says: There will be no Bucky Irving, Mike Evans or Chris Godwin for the Buccaneers, while Emeka Egbuka and Baker Mayfield are hopeful to play through their own ailments. With that many injury issues, last week’s nine-point output doesn’t seem like a fluke. The Saints put up competitive efforts in their past two home games, with a win vs. the Giants and a one-score loss vs. the Patriots.

Staff picks: Perri (TB) | Horrobin (NO) | Closs (NO) | Toman (TB) | Psihogios (NO)

Cowboys vs. Broncos (Sunday, Oct. 26: 4:25 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Denver -3.5
Perri says: Dallas’ offence is among the best in football, ranking first in yards per game and second in points per game. That makes the Cowboys a threat to win every week, despite their awful defence. Denver has skated by in recent weeks with three straight nail-biting wins, and has failed to cover this number in four of its last six games. I like Dak Prescott’s chances of authoring an upset.

Staff picks: Perri (DAL) | Horrobin (DAL) | Closs (DEN) | Toman (DAL) | Psihogios (DAL)

Titans vs. Colts (Sunday, Oct. 19: 4:25 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Indianapolis -14
Horrobin says: Laying this many points is always a bit uncomfortable, but it’s completely warranted in a matchup this lopsided. Indy has the NFL’s best point differential (+92), while Tennessee has the NFL’s worst (-96). Back in Week 3, the Colts beat the Titans, 41-20, on the road. They’ve covered this number four times in six wins and should be capable of doing that again.

Staff picks: Perri (IND) | Horrobin (IND) | Closs (TEN) | Toman (IND) | Psihogios (TEN)

-> Bet on Sunday & Monday Night Football

Sunday and Monday Night NFL ATS picks

Packers vs. Steelers (Sunday, Oct. 26: 8:20 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Green Bay -3
Perri says: I’m not overly impressed with Green Bay despite its 4-1-1 record. The Packers are on a four-game ATS losing streak, failing to cover in consecutive wins against the Bengals (without Joe Burrow) and Cardinals (without Kyler Murray). Pittsburgh’s offence is humming with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, and I like his chances of keeping the home underdogs in a tight ballgame.

Staff picks: Perri (PIT) | Horrobin (PIT) | Closs (GB) | Toman (PIT) | Psihogios (PIT)

Commanders vs. Chiefs (Monday, Oct. 27: 8:15 p.m. ET)

NorthStar Bets line: Kansas City -12
Perri says: It sure feels like Kansas City’s 0-2 start was a lifetime ago. The Chiefs have won four of their last five games with a +71 point differential and are now favoured to win the Super Bowl. Rashee Rice adds another layer to KC’s offence, which should score at will against Washington. Without Jayden Daniels (hamstring), I can’t see the Commanders keeping pace.

Staff picks: Perri (KC) | Horrobin (KC) | Closs (KC) | Toman (KC) | Psihogios (WSH)

NFL ATS picks: Week 7 + season records: Closs: 9-6-0 (56-52-0) | Psihogios: 9-6-0 (54-54-0) | Toman: 10-5-0 (54-54-0) | Perri: 9-6-0 (52-56-0) | Horrobin: 10-5-0 (52-56-0)
