We’ve arrived at the NFL playoffs.
The postseason continues with a tripleheader on Sunday before a Monday nighter completes the tantalizing wild-card round. Sunday’s slate features high-end quarterbacks Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Jordan Love, Jayden Daniels and Baker Mayfield.
We have you covered for it in our NFL wild-card betting guide, featuring staff picks and predictions to help you make the best wagers for the opening playoff round.
NFL betting guide: The wild-card round
The playoffs kicked off with an underdog win and Derrick Henry/Lamar Jackson running wild on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Getting Allen’s Buffalo Bills and then Hurts vs. Love before what’s expected to be the highest-scoring game of the round is quite a way to close the weekend.
Buffalo (-8.5) is the biggest favourite for Sunday’s tripleheader.
As for the biggest total, that belongs to the Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Sunday nighter has an O/U of 50 points.
Daniels was a beast in his rookie season and we’ll offer up a way to play him below.
The Mayfield-Mike Evans duo went bonkers down the stretch, but don’t forget about another rookie who made his mark: Tampa running back Bucky Irving.
There are some excellent matchups, including the playoff edition of Monday Night Football featuring the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams.
Minnesota lost the No. 1 seed in Week 18 but is one of two road favourites. As a result of the catastrophic wildfires in California, the game will actually be played at a neutral venue in Arizona.
It’ll be an action-packed slate of football. Now, let’s get on to the picks…
Here’s a good place to start: Our NFL wild-card ATS picks. Spencer Closs, Jordan Horrobin and Chris Toman provide a recommendation against the spread for all six games.
Wild-card betting predictions: Sunday’s tripleheader
Wild-card prop picks: The Daniels play mentioned above: Over 287.5 passing/rushing yards. Horrobin has two more picks, including a recommendation on Buffalo’s Allen.
Packers/Eagles SGP: Philly -1.5 kicks off this three-leg, same-game parlay that features a Josh Jacobs TD pick and a DeVonta Smith prop.
Commanders/Bucs SGP: What do we know about Washington and Tampa Bay? They love to score points. The backbone of this +320 ticket is an alt total, which is grouped with a Baker Mayfield prop and a moneyline pick.
Commanders/Bucs props: Remember how we mentioned Irving earlier? Well, Jackson Kerbl likes the running back to go off on Sunday night (over 88.5 rushing yards). And he has two more picks for the game.
TD picks: Evans had two TDs when he saw the Commanders in Week 1. Closs likes him to find the end zone again. Like Horrobin, he’s also backing Jacobs to find the end zone against the Eagles.
Monday Night Football predictions
Vikings/Rams props: Los Angeles is at its best when all its receiving weapons are available, and that includes Tyler Higbee. The veteran has a modest yardage prop and is one of Horrobin’s three targets in prime time.
Vikings/Rams SGP: Matthew Stafford has excelled on the playoff stage before … can he do it again? At +350 odds, this parlay is riding on the side of the Rams.
