NFL betting guide: Week 16
For the first time this season, we’ll have NFL football on Saturday — and the matchups are electric.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs host C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans before the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens renew their rivalry.
Sunday’s lines suggest you may see some tight games early. Five of the seven 1 p.m. ET games have spreads less than a touchdown.
- Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams look to extend their win streak to four and stay ahead of the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.
- Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals need a win against the Cleveland Browns to keep their playoff hopes alive.
- The Washington Commanders try to hold onto the NFC’s last wild-card spot as they host the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles.
The Seahawks host the Minnesota Vikings to kick off the late afternoon slate. Minnesota owns the first wild-card position, while Seattle is the first team in the hunt.
Then, MVP front-runner Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills try to keep their undefeated record against the AFC East when they play the New England Patriots.
The San Francisco 49ers travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins and both in must-win scenarios with 6-8 records.
All of this before an SNF matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys closes things out.
Here are some quick betting notes for Week 16:
- Highest total: Buccaneers vs. Cowboys (48.5)
- Biggest spread: Patriots vs. Bills (-14)
- Five teams have odds of +185 or longer to win (Panthers, Browns, Bears, Giants, Patriots)
Lines and odds are listed as of 3:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 20.

Week 16 betting predictions
If you need a one-stop shop for spread bets, we have you covered.
Our NFL Week 16 ATS picks, via Avery Perri, Jordan Horrobin, Spencer Closs and Chris Toman, provide a recommendation against the spread for every game.
We have plenty of other picks, too.
Texans vs. Chiefs SGP picks: Joe Mixon is having a career year, and our Christian Larsen expects that to continue. He has plays on Xavier Worthy and an alternative spread to round out this +320 ticket.
Steelers vs. Ravens SGP picks: Jackson Kerbl expects the underdog to keep it within two touchdowns in this AFC North showdown. He also has plays on Derrick Henry, Jaylen Warren and Mark Andrews in this +510 SGP.
Parlay picks: The Atlanta Falcons look to cover a teased down spread against one of the worst teams in the league. Perri likes this play, along with an under in the Texans/Chiefs game, and the Steelers spread teased up in this +369 ticket.
Upset picks: Closs likes an NFC West team to get back on track as the home underdog. He also has a play on the Chiefs, who are now the favourite with Mahomes starting.
TD picks: Perri is backing two wide receivers and one quarterback to find the end zone this week.
Prop picks: Jerry Jeudy, Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson are the subjects of this week’s NFL prop picks. Find out how Perri is backing them.
Patriots vs. Bills SGP picks: Perri is looking to back the MVP frontrunner. His +300 ticket features an Allen anytime TD, a bet which has cashed in five straight.
Vikings vs. Seahawks same-game parlay (+280): Sam Darnold is an indoor cat, which is bad news with Minnesota going outdoors. Steven Psihogios is backing Seattle in a +280 same-game parlay.
Buccaneers vs. Cowboys prop picks: Tampa Bay struggles to stop the pass. That has Psihogios looking to target CeeDee Lamb and Rico Dowdle on their receiving yards props.
